Chapter 10: Chicago Detective Michael Branham I was the one heading home this time and damn if we weren’t in another hotel parking lot. “I’m very glad you let me know you were in DC,” Sully said. “I wasn’t sure if you wanted…” I didn’t know how I was supposed to finish that sentence. “Yes, I wanted, still want, if you’re okay with the idea.” I liked Sully, trusted him, and hoped when this thing burned out that maybe we’d part friends. The things I’d done with him…chances are I’d never have the courage to try again. A small voice in the back of my head was questioning if my walk on the wild side was something I had to get out of my system or if I was somehow deluding myself by claiming to be straight.
