Knowing what was next to come, I sidled behind Lykoan, peeking around his left side to watch everything. I noticed the Beta was behind us, keeping a cautious distance but observing the confrontation while the patrol wolves slowly limped away with the wounded.
"Keep your envy out of my business, Alpha Zeek," Lykoan rasped to the man who attacked me with his wolf before darting his gaze on the other. "What brought you here, Alpha Iscariot?"
