NIA’S POV
“You’re awake! Thank you, goddess!” The strange woman exclaimed, her voice filled with relief. Her hazy form hovered over me, head tilting from left to right, assessing me. “Are you alright? Please talk to me.”

Hafts of sunlight crept in from the floor-to-ceiling glass windows, extending across the bed and warming me up after a cold night's sleep.
The white sheets swaddled me, warmly and tender like my mother's arms. The faint smell of snapdragon and lemon lingered on my skin.
I groggily forced my eyes to stay open and glanced around. At first, a feeling of panic arose inside of me as I took in my new surroundings, but then, the previous night's events caught up to me, and humiliation and dread flooded my chest.
