Kat Connor  had enough! Revenge was all Kat and Kilene Baxter could think of at this point. Kat and Kilene both had no choice but had to attend the Luna ceremony of Kat's ex-mate and his chosen mate. Kat's father gave her no choice because of the agreements the families had over generations. Kat's mother died two years ago and Kat's father wasn't the same but because of agreements and keeping the peace Kat's father expected Kat to show up and be nice even though by this point after crying tears for weeks and feeling the deep seated pangs while Chase the Evergreen Alpha had s*x with his chosen mate. Kate finally accepted that she had to move on. 

    In front of the mirror, Kat looked at herself. All Kat could see was the weight she had lost and the bags under eyes which had been this way for the past three months. Kat told her brother and her dad who her mate was and they both laughed at her and didn't believe her because Chase was Brian's best friend and Brian believed the lies Chase told him about Kat being obsessed with him. Kat looked at Kilene who looked just as miserable and they both decided that they were leaving the pack and living in the human world and making their own way minus the pack. Over the weeks leading up to the Luna ceremony of Chase and Shauna, Kat and Kilene started planning carefully. Kat was 20 years old and after inheriting money from her grandparents and mom. Kat knew she could live for a good long time just on what she inherited from her grandparents but she had other plans and had been working for two years on IT technology and on a degree so she could take care of herself. The degree Kat would finish after she left her pack in Indiana away from the Northwest. Kilene was interested in the medical field and had been taking classes to become a nurse even though the family and pack fought them both. Kat's father told her she was meant to be a Luna but yet didn't believe her when she told him she was Chase's mate. Chase did a good job making everyone think that Kat was crazy and Ed believed that Kilene had to be crazy and he didn't want a mate who was interested in a career. 

    Kat looked at herself and then looked at Kilene. Leaving would be something else. The scent masking spray she paid for would go a long ways towards making escape happen but first there was the miserable Luna ceremony to attend. Kat looked at Kilene and said, "To make this successful, Girl, we will need a little help tonight. We both look like scarecrows and miserable. Stick with me here and together we can get rid of our ex-mates and make a life for ourselves!" Kilene then told Kat about the conversation she heard between Kat's father and her father about how to make a better match that matching them to the Green pack Alpha and his son they could have a stronger alliance. This was the last straw for both Kat and Kilene along with watching their destined mates choose someone else as a mate. Arranging a nasty old man and his psycho son was icing on the cake for the moving out of the evergreen pack and onto lives they can live in peace. Kat went into her small closet and dug around a moment and came out with clippers and a plastic bag! Kat looked at Kilene and said, "We will attend this stupid ceremony but we will do it under protest!" No one believed us and we might as well be as crazy as we can because the Green pack will be there and we have to make this thing believable!" Kat then took the clippers and proceeded to shave off her hair...the honey blond hair fell onto the floor. Kilene looked at Kat in unbelief and then started giggling and followed suite. Black hair fell from Kilene's head and they both looked at each other and started laughing which quickly turned into tears. Carefully Kat picked up a colorful beanie and pulled on her head and then handed Kilene a beanie and then pulled out of the bag old clothing that looked like something fit for a grandma. Lace blouses matched with frilly skirts along with clod hopper shoes. They both then went into the bathroom and applied makeup that looked so old lady like no one would guess that these girls were daughters of a high ranking Alpha and Beta. The family was already at the grounds waiting for the ceremony  to begin and were they in for an unusual surprise.

    Since everyone was gone to the ceremony and all the packs were busy they didn't notice the two weird looking girls packing a small car with suitcases, computer bags and purses. Carefully Kat made sure all her contact information was in the small car. Carefully both girls drove the car to a park in neutral territory and they were ready. Heather, Kilene and Kat's friend came and picked them up from the park so that they could go to the ceremony. The car was carefully concealed and Kat made sure the scent masking spray was used to spray down her car and ready for use in her small bag. The spray was labeled bug spray so that no one would know what they were actually doing. 

    The three girls drove to the Luna ceremony at the pack. The grounds looked beautiful and decorated for the ceremony. Kat and Kilene went and sat in the back. Kat refused to sit with her father and brother. She felt betrayed and heartsick that things were coming to this. Up front she could see the ranked families and the Green pack Alpha Donovan waiting to sit with Kat. Kat watched as her brother finally started down the aisle. She knew he was looking for her and waited. Brian couldn't believe his eyes. There was Kat dressed so stupid wearing a hat along with Kilene. Brian walked up to Kat and said, "Kat what the hell are you doing? You are suppose to be sitting with us up at the front!" As daughter of Birch Alpha you should be dressed elegant and Kilene you as well!" Kat looked at Brian and said, "I told you I didn't want to come and Kilene feels the same way! We are here and there isn't much you can do about what we look like or even where we sit!" Brian turned quickly and went back to Brandon, Kat's father and spoke to him quickly! Brandon walked back to Kat and grabbed her by the arm and yanked her up along with Brian grabbing Kilene and making them sit with them. Brandon looked at Kat and Kilene and told them both to take off their hats. Kat and Kilene looked at each other, giggled and took off their hats! Everyone behind them gasped! Brian and Brandon both looked at them both in horror and then told them both to put their hats back on! Brandon said to Kat, "When this is over you will stay in your room until your hair is grown out! You look awful and I am ashamed of you today!" Kat looked at her father and told him quietly, "I am ashamed of being your daughter. I told you the truth and you chose to believe a lie. You are no longer my father! I will sit through this farce of a Luna ceremony but I come like this because no one believes me! At one time you did believe in me but that day has ended!" With dignity, Kat sat through the Luna ceremony and quietly cried through it all! She held Kilene's hand and together they watched as their destined mates chose someone else! 

    After the ceremony the party started and Kat and Kilene found a quiet corner to sit in and they quietly waited for night to fall so they could quietly slip away. Chase walked up to Kat along with his Beta Chance and tried to talk to them both but after getting ignored by both women they both walked away angry. Chase had the nerve to ask Kat if she would be his mistress or as Chase put it...booty call and Kat looked at him and told him to get lost! Chance looked at Kilene and after seeing them standing with dignity in spite of the pain and ugly clothing both men walked away.  As the night went on the crowd was eating and dancing and getting drunk. Quietly Kat and Kilene slipped away into a private bathroom and quickly changed clothes. The colorful beanies disappeared and they both pulled on black leggings, black crop tops and black leather jackets and slipped onto their heads black hats. They sprayed themselves with the masking spray and quietly slipped out through the back of the house to bicycles hidden in the woods. They quietly starting peddling towards their car and freedom. The laughter and partying continued into the night as the runaway Alpha's daughter and her Beta female took off.

    When they reached town they quietly went to their vehicle and started the car. Both girls stopped at a convenience store and grabbed snacks and drinks. They didn't know what they would need so they made sure and stocked up on enough to last a few days. They gassed up their vehicle and then drove quietly out of town. The most dangerous part of the journey was just beginning. Kat was driving and then she started giggling! The nervous laughter filled the car as they laughed over the expressions on both Kat's father and brother's face as well as on the faces of the people who knew them! Ugly haircuts and ugly clothes suited the mood of them both at the party.

    Back at the party, Heather quietly went over to the punch bowl and poured something from a small bottle into the punch bowl. As the night went on more and more people got tipsy and passed out from the secret ingredients poured into the bowl. The staff passed out food that was spiked with something that made everyone tipsy and sleepy. Soon the people dropped where they were into oblivion. Heather quietly slipped away and got into her car to meet up with Kat and Kilene later.

    When Kat and Kilene reached the border of the pack lands they both stopped the car and climbed out. Kat then said, "Today I reject this pack, Birch pack and have no more connection to the pack from this day forward. I reject my father, Brandon as Alpha and father." Kilene then repeated the same oath and they both felt pain yet freedom. They carefully climbed back into their vehicle and headed towards Seattle. After driving five hours into Seattle they made their way to Seattle Tacoma airport. They parked the car in overnight parking and slipped out to catch the red eye flight to Charlestown, North Carolin as one stop, Dallas, Texas another stop, New Orleans and then their final destination into Indianapolis, IN. They had paperwork changing their names at each stop along the way along with the IDs to go with the new tickets bought. They weren't taking chances of being found. The traveling took three days of stopping and starting. Kat made sure that she had banking information in all the names to match the IDs she had and was able to accomplish with this with the help of Heather and her family. Heather would meet them in a few weeks as she traveled to cover her tracks.

    The next morning everyone back at the pack woke up and knew something was terribly wrong. The money that was in the safe was gone from both packs. They knew they had been drugged. Brian and Brandon Connor both ran back to their pack. Brandon checked the safe in his office and found it empty off all the cash he kept there. Brian ran to his sister's room frantically looking for Kat. All Brian found was a note. Brian yelled for his father  and together they read the note, To Brandon and Brian Connor. I have left the pack. I know you planned to mate me to the Green pack Alpha and Kilene to the son of Alpha Green. I refuse to let you rule my life anymore. I told you who my fated and destined mate was and you didn't believe me. I am done! Don't try and look for me for I have saved, planned and forged so that I can be free of you both. When mom was alive I was treated with respect but for some reason afterwards that respect and love disappeared and died when she died. I cannot and will not let someone rule my life especially someone who had a fated mate and yes I know losing mom was hard but expecting me to mate to the Green Alpha and Kilene to the Alpha's son was the height of disrespect for mates. I have done what I could to fix what was broken and feel too sad and broken to stay here. Kat.  Brian and Brandon both looked at each other in horror and together started searching for Kat and Kilene. They saw on cameras the girls going into the convenience store and the last camera as they drove out of town. They searched for months and nothing came up. The agreement with Alpha Green never did come about and even after showing the letter that Kat wrote to Alpha Green he was in fury over Kat and after much talking and pressure by their allies they signed the agreement minus the mating with Kat.

    In the meantime, Kat enrolled back into college and started her career as IT and worked on the side in web security for a prestigious firm in Indianapolis, IN. Kat, Kilene and Heather found a nice farm out in the country which made it possible for them to shift to their wolves when they needed to and they were able to enjoy nature and grow their own food. They lived in neutral territory and gradually their hair grew out. They all started taking classes in martial arts and MMA style fighting. As they learned and grew as people they were able to have a measure of peace. Kilene finished her degree in nursing and became a nurse. Heather the least known of them all whose father was a werewolf but mother a human was able to partially shift but because of her mixed breeding knew she was considered low in pack hierarchy so running was the best she could do to get a measure of peace. Heather was assigned as omega of the pack but Kat as well as Kilene refused to accept Heather as such. The friendship grew with the three ladies and they were able to protect themselves from rogues and other squirrely individuals who tried to ruin their peace. 

    Back at the pack, the pack was never the same. Brandon the Alpha became short of patience. Brian took over as Alpha and the pack members walked around like they were walking on eggs. Having the Alpha daughter and Beta daughter affected the pack in a negative way. Brian searched for his sister and searched for his mate but because of the agreement he tried to make with the Alpha Green, Brian felt like he was cursed due to not respecting mates. Chase of Evergreen pack lost Shauna after one year. Shauna's true mate showed up and she ran away with him leaving Chase angry and bitter. The area around the five packs suffered and the alliance barely kept together because of the lack of Alpha females and the lack of trust in true mates. 

    One day Brian, Chase and the Green Alpha's son,  David came together and decided that they had enough and it was time to find their true mates. Chase looked at Brian and finally confessed that he lied about Kat being his mate. Brian looked at Chase and punched him in the face. Chase looked at Brian and said he was going to go and look for Kat and bring her back to his pack as his Luna. Brian finally confessed that Heather was his true mate but because of her so called omega status he rejected her. David finally said that he didn't want someone who wasn't his mate but he is willing to search with the men to find their mates. Together they decided to get their mates come hell or high water. Persuading three very determined women, crazy men had no clue that it would take more than they thought it would be. As the men talked they found themselves laughing especially after seeing Kat and Kilene wearing the hideous clothes and shaving their heads bald. They would be in for a fight of their lives getting their women back.
