My whole world stopped from what just happened. I can see the blood slowly coming out of my head teacher's father's head. He's not moving and people are panicking. The two officers tried to lift the ceiling ornament with their full power, but they failed.
My body started to tremble. I wanted to look away, but I couldn't move my body. It was as if I was pinned in place.
I felt Wayne's hands pulling my body away from the scene.
"Hey..."
I can hear him, but his voice is so faint. Everything is just so faint. My whole world is in slow motion and the only thing I can
see clearly is Mister Hudson's body.
He was so angry that he couldn't contain it and tried to attack me.
But that chandelier fell before Mister Hudson could come near and hurt me.
Was that just an accident too?
"Hey... Kate. Look at me!" Wayne raised his voice to wake me up. I lifted my head to look at him. That's when the sounds and surroundings started to become clear again. I stared straight into his worried eyes. "Are you okay? Don't look at the body! Just look at me." He used his body to cover Mister Hudson's lifeless body . I silently cried.
This is the second death I've seen in just two days. Everything is happening so fast.
I was just talking to him a few moments
ago and now he's lying on the cold floor and not moving.
What the hell is going on?...
Wayne gently guided me to move aside when people from the emergency department came and rescued the body. They lifted the crystal chandelier up and it took about seven people to successfully remove it. That's when we got to see Mister Hudson's true state.
Blood everywhere... The office turned red because of the accident.
I don't even know if he's still alive. This chandelier hit the most vulnerable part of his body and he's now bleeding to death.
No one can survive that impact.
"Everyone go out now!" One of the rescuers said.
One officer came to us and advised us to go home. I thought they would try to point their fingers at us again, but then I realized it wasn't them who summoned us here in the first place. It was Mister Hudson.
My brother didn't waste any time and guided me out. We made sure to leave our 'thank you's' to the officers' honest service. One of them told us shortly that Mister Hudson tried to bribe them with money just to get me behind bars. Wayne was so furious, but I managed to calm him down.
The person we were talking about is already in the brink of death.
The least we can do is to stop tainting his name.
I can feel the pounding of my chest as we slowly walked away from the establishment. I can't help it, but think that what happened just now wasn't just an
accident.
I've been feeling like somebody has been watching me since morning.
It's Lucario...
But I didn't see him though.
I just...
I just feel him.
I feel his protection...
"Watch your head."
He gently covered my head with his hand as I entered the car. Wayne has always been protective of me. He does small caring brother things like this all the time. The only reason he hasn't done it in a long time was because of his work. He was a gynecologist. It kind of feels strange to have someone caring for me now when I've
been alone for the past few months.
My other relatives never cared about me and losing him in those months was like losing my only family.
It was tough...
"You know..." he said. I turned my head to look at him and listen. "When you told me that Lucario killed that head teacher of yours, I didn't see him as a monster killing weak people. I saw him as a man protecting his woman."
I parted my lips lightly. He's in the same page with that mysterious masked man? After all the bad qualities of him that I told him, he still chose to stand with Lucario?
"I would have done the same if someone tried to harass my woman too," he added. Wayne glanced at me before shifting his eyes back to the road. "I was about to do
the same when you told me about your head teacher. It was honestly good to know that Lucario finished him already. Saved me the trouble." He chuckled.
My older brother is not the type to idolized killers, but he sure knows how to protect his family and the people he cares about. Maybe that's the reason why he agrees with what Lucario did.
I felt something touched my heart when I realized how many times Lucario tried to save me.
He's still saving me even when I don't see him.
I smiled.
Wayne opened the car door for me when we arrived. I've been telling him while we were in the road that he doesn't have to worry about me. His over-caring side is
making my independent side cringe.
"You know that you don't have to treat me like I'm disabled, right—ahh!" I groaned when I felt the pain lined up in my middle part. It stung so much that I lost my balance and almost fell on the ground.
If it weren't for Wayne who was supporting my arm in spite of my continuous whining, I would be swimming on the ground like a frog.
"What's wrong?" he asked in a worried voice while watching me put pressure on my belly. He smiled when he realized what I was doing. I can already see an upcoming lame joke. "Did you just get food poisoned of your own food?" he asked jokingly and chuckled.
I pinched his bicep despite of my aching private part. He's such a douchebag.
Aw! You're squishing my muscles," he complained while still smiling like an i***t. I gave him a death glare.
"You ate and liked it," I scoffed and rolled my eyes at him while forcing myself to straighten up my back. "Don't sabotage me now." I can feel it. The pain is too much. Is it because of the time I was sitting in the car? Was it that long?
"Hahaha..." He softly chuckled while still looking at me worriedly. "But really though. Are you sure you're okay? Can you tell me what happened?" he asked.
My cheeks turned red.
"I—It's nothing..." I withdrew my arm from him. He looked at me with obvious doubt on his face. Lying was never in my set of skills.
I went inside the house first and he
followed. I didn't bother waiting for him and just went straight to my room.
My private part was still hurting even when I already got upstairs in my room. The pain was already tolerable when I woke up today. Why is it hurting like a b***h now?
I was in the middle of massaging my belly when I head a voice on the other side of my door.
"Knock knock..."
I glanced at the door when it opens and Wayne showed up with a smug look on his face.
What is it now...
"I think I know the reason for that my-belly-hurts episode of yours this afternoon," he said and wiggled his brows. I looked at him with a bored face. He really
