Michael I pull my battered body off the snowy ground, shaking out my coat. In my wolf form, my vision is much better than normal, but against the storm raging this far up in the mountains, I’m barely able to see more than ten feet in front of me. Matilda’s footprints have faded, carried away by the wind, and the trail of vampire blood I’d been following is long gone. But I’ve been chasing her for miles… to the outskirts of my family’s kingdom–high in the mountains, where even a shifter would struggle to survive against a storm like this.
