CHAPTER 13
Elizabeth’s POV
Daddy tensed up under me and wrapped his arms tighter around me.
“Did Jake tell you something?”
“He mumbled something about a letter but I don’t think he meant for me to hear it and when I asked him he told me to ask you.”
I knew he was some sort of lie detector so I didn’t even bother coming up with something but I tried defending purple so that daddy wouldn’t do anything.
‘I’ll deal with him later,’ was what I heard daddy mutter to himself before his attention was back on me.
“Since I know you won’t stop asking until I tell you, I will answer your question.”
The room was dark - nearly pitch black - so I couldn’t exactly see daddy’s face but by the tone of his voice I could say that he was frowning.
