Okay...I am officially working on the next book for this series. It's Aurous's story and his fight for the throne. I really wanted to do his side of the story and give him some depth. I don't know when I'll finish, but I thank all of you for sticking with me throughout this. The book's name is "Eagles Will Soar". I might make a book after that one or just wrap it all up. Hmm...can't decide.
Here's a sneak peek:
My mother brushes my face, filling me with warmth. The golden rays of sunshine mark my face. Those days are gone, she is gone.
I lay up; my long hair sprawls across my bedsheets. My pale golden eyes search my room for my butler, Eleanor. My head aches. A knock on my door reveals Eleanor, holding a tray of my breakfast. “Goodmorning, your Royal Highness”, I groan. Another day of Royalty, and boredom. I swing my tanned legs over the side of my bed, letting them dangle. I put on my clothes, brushing off Eleanor to go back to his room. I stare out the window. I didn’t have much time. No time really, depending on how long Father was with his council. I grabbed my cloak, follow a secret passage I found when I was ten. Only two people, other than me, know about the passageway. One was dead, and the other was sworn to secrecy. There was one more, my brother, but he forgot years ago. Grandfather smirked down on me. I sneaked out, feeling the empty potion in my hand. It temporarily made my eyes those of a Glimmer. I grabbed the vines, pulling myself through the tight space. If caught I would be dead, dethroned, beheaded. My clothes, underneath my cloak, were that of a servant boy, one I had stolen from the cellar. The village burst on kids and merchants, thieves, and mothers. I combed my way through the river of people, making sure not to bump into anyone who would give me away, like Eleanor. This will be the last time I come to this place.
