Erin's POV - Sticks out a mile
His questioning caught me off guard, and for a moment, I didn’t know how to respond. Dark thoughts crept into my mind, and I feared he suspected I knew about his affair, which terrified me because I felt my plans for revenge could be ruined. I desperately sought the right answer, and as usual, my she-wolf instincts kicked in.
“Kevin…” I began, but my smile faded. I sighed, looking away as if embarrassed. “I’m sorry, but I don’t understand why Zoe always needs to be with us,” I finally said. “Only a blind she-wolf wouldn’t see how into you she is.”
He looked surprised at first, but then shook his head. “Zoe is just a friend from school. My parents know her because she used to be around often. That’s all.”
