For a moment, I didn't know what to do, but then I thought that Zoe had probably worn him out. I turned to look at him in the dark and then lay my head back on the pillow. "I'm sorry. I didn't want to wake you up," he whispered, and I merely murmured an "Okay." He moved closer to me, and I nearly jumped when I felt his leg touch mine. He wrapped his arms around me and kissed my face. "I had a long day today, but I'll tell you about it in the morning," he whispered in my ear, kissing my face again. "Good night," he said, but he didn't let me go. His arms were still wrapped around me, and as I lay there, I couldn't believe how blind I had been. How could I have misunderstood his nature so much? How could he come home after being in bed with Zoe, hug me, and kiss me as if he were in love
