Kevin's POV - A pup's cry
Erin sounded a bit different than usual. She had never refused me when I tried to get close to her like this. However, I understood that she worked a lot and that her mood might be affected by fatigue. I had planned to spend the night with her, hoping to make the day end ideally, but I didn’t mind leaving her to get some rest at all.
After I hung up, I dialled Zoe's number. It didn't take long for her to answer.
“What? Did you change your mind?” she asked, sounding offended, which made me smile.
“Yes, I'll be at your place shortly, but first I need to see my father. I won’t be long,” I replied.
“And what if I say I have something important to deal with and no time for you?” she challenged, but that only made my smile wider.
