"Zoe, that gown is expensive."
She turned to face me, looking angry. "And then what? Erin can get an expensive gown to shine next to you, but I, the mother of your pup, can't have a nice gown for your ceremony?" she huffed.
I rolled my eyes. "Zoe, if you get that gown and wear it to the ceremony, it will look suspicious. You were trying to get Erin to choose it, and then you would show up in it? Forget it."
