Erin's POV - The last day
I had just finished talking to Ronald when Kevin called me. I didn't expect him to be early; I thought he would be late as usual. So, I was surprised when I saw his name on my phone. I said goodbye to Ronald, who wished me good luck, and then disconnected the call to talk to Kevin.
After our conversation, I organised all the documents, gathered my belongings, and rushed out of the building. However, I was taken aback when I saw something surprising at the reception.
“Mary? I thought you were off,” I said, looking surprised at one of the medical students.
She smiled at me and shook her head. “No, I stayed. I need some extra money, and Zoe told me she had something important to take care of, but Dr Simms didn’t want to let her go, so I offered to cover for her.”
