Chapter 8 Why Has He Come Looking

Isabella looks up at Logan and shakes her head yes. She is too afraid to utter a word, as she doesn't think she is capable. “Isabella, you stay in my room and don't come out, I will be back. I am going to talk to Alpha Markus and when I get back you are going to tell me everything and Isabella I mean everything.” Isabella shakes her head yes at Logan, and he turns and walks out of the closet and walks toward the door and out of the room, quietly shutting his door.

Logan slowly descends the stairs, just as Aiden walks into the side door. “Aiden, we are going to take Alpha Markus into my office, and we are not mentioning anything about my mate. Do you understand? We are not mentioning anything about coming across a female period. There is something going on here that is concerning me and until I get to the bottom of it, we are not mentioning anything, period.” “Yes, Alpha.” Logan and Aiden walked out the front door just as Alpha Markus' car pulled up in front of the pack house.

“Alpha Markus, welcome to Blue Moon Pack. I believe that you have met my Beta Aiden.” Markus shakes his head in acknowledgment of Alpha Logan's words and reaches out to shake both men's hands. "It has been a long time since we have seen each other, Alpha Logan. It is good to see you both, Alpha Logan and Beta Aiden. This is my Gamma Martin. I don't believe you have met before. He was unable to attend training while we were at the academy together.” Martin nods his head in recognition of the Alpha and the Beta. “ Let's head into my office, Alpha Markus, and we can discuss the reason for your unexpected visit.” Alpha Logan leads the way to his office with Alpha Markus, Beta Aiden and Gamma Martin trailing behind him. After entering his office, Alpha Logan makes his way to his desk, Beta Aiden stands behind him to his left. He motions for Alpha Markus and Gamma Martin to have a seat.

“Please tell me what brought you there so unexpectedly to the Blue Moon Pack Alpha Markus.” “Well, it seems that one of my pack members has disappeared, she was an omega. I am concerned that rogues may have taken off with her. I saw her about 2 am yesterday and no one has seen her since. My patrol had an encounter with some rogues around the same time, so we are concerned that somehow some of them may have made it through the patrol, and she may have taken against her will.” “Well, Alpha Markus, I haven't had any issues with rogues recently nor have I seen any lone females in the area. Is it possible that this omega ran away?”

“No, she would never run away. She is not the type to run away. She has been a member of the pack for 18 years and has no family to speak of. Our pack is the only family she has ever known.” Logan had watched Markus' reaction to saying the omega had run away. He could tell that there was more to the story than what Markus was telling him, however he knew that Markus was not going to be the one to tell him what was really going on. “Alpha Markus, I am sorry to hear about this pack member being missing. If we see or hear of anything, I would be happy to let you know as soon as possible. However, I can't imagine that they would come this way. What is your pack member's name and what does she look like?” “Her name is Isabella Hughes, she has blue eyes, red hair and is about 5'4,” and she is very slender. I am hoping that we find her soon and that the rogues have not harmed her. She is very innocent. She has never left our pack lands before and keeps to herself.”

“I am sure that she is safe, wherever she is, Alpha Markus. I will send some of my warriors out to search the area towards your pack and I will let you know if we locate her or find any indication that rogues have been in the area.” “Thank you, Alpha Logan, I appreciate any help you can provide. If you don't mind, I will take my leave, as I have several other packs to stop at to see if they may know anything.” “Please, let me walk you out Alpha Markus.”

Alpha Logan rises from his seat behind his desk and walks to the door and motions to Alpha Markus to go through the office door, followed by his Gamma, then Logan and Aiden followed behind. Logan and Aiden escorted Alpha Markus and Gamma Martin back to their car and once again assured them that they would let them know if they found anything.

Logan and Aiden waited for Alpha Markus and Gamma Martin's car to start heading to the pack gate before they turned and headed back into the pack house, and they made their way back to Logan's office, both entering the office and locking the door after entering as they wanted to speak privately and did not want any unexpected interruptions. Logan had made sure that his office was soundproof as there was some information that the Alpha did not want other pack members to hear or gossip about. Logan motioned for his beta to have a seat before he started talking. “Well Aiden, is it me or do you think that Alpha Markus is full of sh*t about what happened?”

“I have to say I don't believe a word that he said about our guest being an omega. Logan, I saw the bruises all over her arms when we went to the hospital and I noticed as you brought her back to the pack house that she had them up and down her legs as well. I think they have been severely abusing Isabella, and they are afraid that the council will find out, so they are making up this rouge story to explain the bruises.” “I agree, the story about his concern seems forced, plus you did not see how Isabella reacted when she found out he was here Aiden.

She actually hid in the corner of my closet behind my suitcase and begged me not to send her back to him. The fear in her eyes was something I don't think I will ever forget. I am going to go back upstairs and see if I can get her to tell me what happened to her. I told her when I left that when I came back I wanted the whole story, so we will see if she is ready to tell me what happened to her.

I enter my room, Bella is sitting on my bed under the covers with them up to her chin. She looks so afraid, she is shaking like a leaf. I walked through the door and slowly approached the bed and set down next to Bella. I slowly reached out to her. She seemed to be in another place, as she had yet to acknowledge that I was even in the room. As I touch Bella, she jumps and whimpers a little. She slowly turns to look at me with such sadness in her eyes. My heart breaks for her and all that I suspect she has experienced.

“Bella, I know you don't want to tell me what has happened to you, but I need to know. I need to know what kind of trouble you are in, so I know how to protect you and my pack. No matter what you tell me, I will not send you back to Alpha Markus." Isabella looks at me with such sadness in her eyes, it nearly breaks my heart. I can tell that she has been through so much already, and I don't want to make it worse, but I have to know what I am looking at.
