Chapter 6 Freedom Is Mine

1142 Words
I quietly kept running toward the pack border in hopes that I had missed the patrol. As I approached the border, I could smell that the patrol had already been through. As I walked across the border, I took off my clothes so they would not be destroyed and put them in my bag, then I transformed into my wolf, grabbing my bag in my mouth and running as fast as I could. I had been running for two hours before I made it to the car that Maggie had left for me. I was still on pack land but I was not far from the official border of the pack. Large packs like ours sometimes have two borders, the area surrounding the pack house and member's homes and the official border, which is the end of the land that the pack owns. Maggie had immediately purchased a cheap car and made arrangements for it to be left at this location for my escape when I told her that I had to get away from the pack or I wasn't sure if I would survive much longer due to all of the abuse. Maggie had secretly been teaching me how to drive for the last 6 months at night after everyone had gone to sleep. I did not have a license, as there was no way for me to take the test without the Alpha finding out, but that was not going to stop me from driving away. As I sat in the front seat of the Honda Civic that Maggie bought for me, I put my seat belt on and put the car in drive and off I went. As I passed the pack border, I renounced my pack affiliation and, speed away as fast as I could. I had been driving approximately two hours when I felt the most horrific pain that I had ever felt in my life. “Isabella, our mate is having s*x with someone else.” I could not believe what Alora had told me.....I had to pull off the road or I was going to crash the car due to the pain. I noticed a roadside park coming up and pulled off and parked. As I put the car in park, I let out the loudest scream I thought possible. The pain was so intense that I passed out immediately. When I next woke up, I was not in the Honda, but in a cream-colored bedroom. As I looked around, the room was empty other than your standard bedroom furniture. I started to panic as I did not know where I was. I started to sit up as the door to the room opened. I looked up to see blonde hair sneaking through the door. I panicked as I thought.......oh no... it is Gabby. However, as the person stood up, I realized that it was not Gabby. I let out the breath that I had been holding, however I didn't know who this person was and if they meant me harm. “Oh, you are awake. Are you feeling OK?” I looked at the blonde who walked towards the bed and I was unsure what I should say. My heart rate started to elevate as the female walked toward the bed. The closer the blonde got to the bed the harder it was for me to breathe, I started to see black dots in my vision. The blonde female started yelling...I was so confused that I did not know what she was saying. Everything that I heard was jumbled. As another stranger walked through the door, I could not make out their faces due to the tears streaming down my face. I could not breathe and the panic started to set in. My vision started to blur even more and I started plummiting into the darkness that surrounded me. I am not sure how long I had been out, but when I came to, there was a handsome man standing at the door. My heart rate started to escalate again when I saw the man coming through the door and he slowly approached the end of the bed and sat down. “Please, stop panicking, I promise I am not going to hurt you.” I looked at the man who was sitting in front of me, wondering who he was. My throat is so sore as I have not had any water or anything to drink for several hours. The man sitting next to me picks up the glass from the table and helps me sit up to take a drink of water. As the water runs down my throat, it soothes the soreness of my dry throat. I feel like I can speak now. I looked at the man next to the bed, “ where am I?” The man next to me looked at me with shock, like he could not believe that I didn't know where I was. “You are in the Blue Moon Pack.” What....all I could think is, how am I alive? The Blue Moon Pack is known to kill those who trespass upon their land, no questions asked. My heart starts to panic at the thought of where I currently am. All I could think was that they were going to kill me. The panic took root in my system again. I started backing away from this man as fast as I could, until I hit the head of the bed. I wrapped my arms around my legs and put my head down, trying to make myself as small as possible. I had hoped that if I made myself small enough that he would not be able to get a good hold on me, nor would he be able to get a good hit to my face. I thought maybe if I begged he would not kill me, but I know how my luck runs, I was probably only delaying the inevitable. “Please, I am so sorry for trespassing, don't kill me, I will leave right away.....please!” Tears are now streaming down my face and to the point of running down my legs, the sobs were racking my body. The more I cried, the less I could breathe. The man placed his hand on my knee and I started to panic even more. Was he going to pull me off the bed and kill me? “Please stop crying, you are safe, no one will harm you, I promise.” I slowly raised my head and looked the man in the eye for the first time and in my head I heard my wolf Alora scream the word I feared most in my life “Mate.” This cannot be happening to me again. I go from the frying pan into the fire.
