Chapter 16“Are you sure he’ll be okay by himself?” Chuck asked.
“He’ll be fine,” Dave assured him.
They finished piling boxes of stuffed animals into the rental truck, then added the numerous posters and the duvet Chuck had folded into the storage case it had come in. Finally, Leo and Den pulled the tonneau cover over the truck bed to protect their cargo, and they all climbed in.
“Besides,” Dave continued, “we won’t be gone too long. The hospital is aware we’ll be dropping off these boxes, which won’t take more than twenty minutes. Once we’re done there, we can head to the mall.”
“Yeah,” Dan agreed. “That should be pretty quick. We’ll be back before Clance can miss us. We just need a few sheet sets and a new duvet—”
