She was there again, smiling the same enigmatic smile she had been the week before. Amir smiled back and her endless, dark eyes seemed to sparkle. Her dark hair was wrapped in that same distinctive aquamarine scarf, scattered with glass beads that caught the sun and threw it up around her head into some kind of halo. Amir replaced the scoop into the curd barrel, and wiped his hands on his apron, willing her to come over. Last week he had tried to speak to her, dashing out of the booth and across the busy thoroughfare to catch her arm. By the time he had reached the place where she had been hovering at the entrance to one of the larger courtyards, she had gone. He had cursed under his breath, he"d taken his eyes from her for no more than fifteen seconds as he negotiated a farrier"s cart. L
