Dorthy stares at V then her eyes land on me and widen. So the mutt had finally awoken huh? Your mother will be so pleased to know. Now come with me if you know what’s best for you. Umm I think not I go to say but it comes out a snarl. Ohh yeah I am a beast not a person with a mouth hahaha. I think she’s saying not a chance V spits out between clenched teeth.

I know a freak like you isn’t talking to me! She shouts and the sound hurts my ears so bad. Nyoka tells me we need to shift back and walks me through how. When I shift I am surprised I am still in my clothes because I thought they tore. Dorthy starts to charge forward and V grabs my arm dragging me to the car. Dark purple light almost black light surrounds Dorthy’s hands.

She starts shaking and suddenly V is struggling to breathe. Nyoka tells me to touch V and not let go. As my hand makes contact she begins to breathe normally again. I can tell Dorthy is caught off guard, while she’s distracted I push us closer to the SUV. As V is climbing in I get snatched back towards Dorthy. She slaps me hard across my face. Pain shoots through my skull making my vision blur for a second before I punch her in the nose.

Instantly blood spews out as her head racks back hard enough to toss her off balance. I grab her to stop her from falling back and knee her in the stomach. As I knee her she doubles over and I knee her in the face again. I am so damn angry I see red and Nyoka is growling telling me to kill her. I am so close to doing as she wants but then it dawns on me that I need answers.

She’s out cold I look back at a very surprised V. I need something to tie her up with please. V brings some rope that was in the cabin. I tie her hands and feet and we drag her into the cabin. What’s the plan Charity, this is out of my scope of knowledge. I am sure you are aware it’s not in my skill house either.

We don’t have long before we need to leave Nyoka tells me. I huff aggravated that I can’t catch a break. I am exhausted and scared. I don’t understand what’s going on anymore, I need answers I pour an ice cold bottle of water in Dorthy’s face waking her up. Oh boy does she look pissed but I don’t care. I been wanting to do that since I met you, I tell her.

I have nothing to say to you. I don’t talk to dead mutts. I look at V and she tells me that she can’t read dark witches they block her with their magic. Tell her that we will neutralize her magic, Nyoka tells me. Nyoka says we will take care of her magic to try as I reach out and touch Dorthy. I feel heat all over my body it feels wrong.

It’s the dark magic it isn’t natural so that’s why it feels gross like that. We are immune to magic since we are why all creatures have magic. Without us no supernatural will have magic. Does the dark witches know this? No they only heard what they wanted to heard Nyoka tells me. Dorthy is thrashing around but there is nothing she can do because V is now touching her plundering through all her memories.

Your mother knows where we are Dorthy sent her the address before comforting us. We need to leave Now! I nod my head answers will need to wait our lives are on the line. I am no killer I decided to leave her tied up but Nyoka has another plan. We put one hand on her temple the other over her heart. I feel a searing heat then it’s gone. Standing we jump into the SUV n take off at top speed.

I can’t hang on anymore I pass out from exhaustion. I wake up it’s bright outside. I have no idea how long I have been asleep and I feel bad V has been driving the entire time. I look out the window V is pumping gas. She smiles at me asking how do I feel? I feel rested thanks to you for getting us out of there.

Hey wanna grab breakfast and coffees at starbies down the road? Yes!!! You are amazing I will drive. She laughs but doesn’t argue I see she’s exhausted. It took us all of five minutes to get to our favorite place in the world. I ordered my favorite Chestnut praline latte and a blueberry muffin. V orders a white chocolate mocha made with sweet cream. She said she would rather eat her own breakfast she packed.

We get our order and she grabs two lunch boxes one for me and one for her. Mine had eggs, ham, bacon, biscuits, jam and some fresh fruits. Hers mostly has nuts and fruits and I stare at her confused. I didn’t know you were a vegetarian? Umm no I am not but my species doesn’t eat much meat. We can eat anything but we recharge better on healthy foods.

How’s all this hot like you just cooked it? I hear Nyoka laughing, then her and V say at the same time magic. I giggle and she suddenly goes quiet opening her mouth then closing it. What’s up V it’s not like you to not speak your mind. I was just wondering what you did to Dorthy? I felt it but I can’t explain it.

Nyoka tells me we took her magic away, she’s human now. I gasp as I tell V what Nyoka just told me. She gives me a stunned expression not knowing what to say. Then her face splits into the biggest smile possible. So it’s true you are the Tempest Queen and you have returned to save us.
