Episode 4 :The Missing Piece

After several minutes of squeezing herself in the crowd, she finally spotted the stranger for the second time.

She screamed with the loudest voice, “Please wait. I want to have a word with you,”

The stranger spun around to establish eye contact with Serena. He drifted his gaze away from Serena and walked faster as his legs could carry him.

Serena went after him. She can't understand why the mystery man is running away from her.

At some point, she had to touch her forehead to be certain she had no horns planted on it.

Finally, Serena was able to pull away from the crowd as she arrived in a lonely path.

She stopped running when she heard footsteps behind her. She stayed vigilant and was ready to defend herself from any attack.

She was about to turn around when someone pulled her from behind.

She screamed, “Please don't hurt me,” she can feel her soul separating from her body.

“Why are you following me?” The mystery man snarled at Serena while still wrapping his arms around her neck.

“Who sent you to kill me?” He pulled a knife and rested it on Serena's waistline.

“Nobody. I just want us to talk," Serena explained.

She could barely breathe properly. She could see her life sniffing away from her gradually.

After listening to her explanation, he freed Serena and returned the knife to his small cross's bag.

“You almost had me killed,” Serena bends to the ground and pants heavily.

“Why are you stalking me?” The mystery man challenged Serena.

That's not the first time they have bumped into each other. Serena believes it's more than just a coincidence.

She has every reason to believe that the stranger was sent to kill her.

“Holy moly!” The stranger exclaimed in shock as he took a second glance at Serena.

“You are Serena, aren't you?” He calls her name after a closer look at her.

“Yes, I am,” Serena points to her chest in disbelief. “How did you know my name?”

“Don't you recognize me any more? I'm Xavier Jasper, from the blood moon pack festival some years ago,” he goes the extra mile to reveal himself.

He introduced himself as the Alpha of the Nightfall Pack. He has been searching for Serena for two years. He knows a lot about Serena, more than she does about him.

“Goodness me! Xavier!” Serena finally regained her lost memory after spotting Xavier's dragon Ball neck tattoo.

Flashes from the one-night stand began to play in their head. Serena now knows who the father of her twins is.

“Where have you been and how did you find me?” Serena asked out of excitement.

She never imagined that a day like this would come, where she reunited with the father of her kids.

“I should be asking you the same question, Serena. I didn't stop searching for you after that night. I was heartbroken when I heard that you escaped from your father's pack,” Xavier narrated.

“That night lives rent-free in my head. For two years, I didn't stop thinking about you. When I heard about your return to the Pack, I had to come look for you,” he buttressed.

While they spoke, Xavier felt the connection between his inner wolf and Serena.

That's enough evidence he needs to believe that Serena is his destined mate.

Serena is speechless.

She is poised to reveal to Xavier about the twins.

But sadly, she isn't sure how Xavier will react to it. She is afraid that Xavier will see her as a desperate girl who wants to force her kids on him.

“Hey, what's the matter?" Xavier asked after he noticed how discombobulated Serena has become. He can swear that her soul is troubled.

“I have a confession," Serena takes a bold step to relieve that burden inside of her.

“It's about the one-night stand,” she exhaled and gulped her saliva to summon the courage she needed to speak.

Caden leans forward, “Go on and spill. What do you want to say to me? I promise not get upset at you,”

“After that night we made love, I…” Serena paused after her phone rang.

It's a call from Nadia. What a coincidence. Nadia called at the right time when Serena needed her aide. Serena was about to go crazy.

“Sorry, I need to take this call,” she seeks permission from Xavier to answer the phone

She moves some few meters away from Xavier to speak with Nadia. “Hey, girl. How are the kids doing?”

“We got a problem, Serena,” Nadia cried over the phone.

“Stay calm and tell me what I need to know,” She urged Nadia.

Serena claims to be strong, but deep inside of her, she's losing it.

“The twins have been kidnapped some minutes ago.” Nadia revealed in a placating voice.

She had no plans of revealing the information in that manner. But on a second thought, she realized that It was only natural that Serena finds out about it.

“What?” Serena screamed.

Her voice was so loud that it got Xavier's attention. He rushed to her and saved her from dropping to the ground.

He picked up the phone and handed it back to Serena. “Who was that over the phone?”

“That's my friend from Crestfall Town. She just called to notify me that our kids have been kidnapped,” Serena disclosed with teary eyes.

“Wait a minute. Did you just say our kids?” Xavier asked for clarification.

It took a while for his brain to fully understand what Serena just told him.

“You got pregnant from that one-night stand we had?” he kept digging for answers. He is careful not to make false assumptions in his head.

“Yes, Xavier. That's what I've been trying to say to you before my friend called,” Serena affirmed.

“Why didn't you tell me about it? Why did it take you two years to finally tell me? How could you be so cruel?” Xavier entered his beast mode.

This is the worst betrayal he has ever suffered from anyone in his life.
