Selina's POV The cold floor of the grain vault slipped away into a different kind of dark. I didn't slide into a normal sleep – my consciousness dropped straight through the limestone foundations, falling past the roots of the mountain into that vast, starlit void that had haunted my nights since the Thicket. The scent of damp flour and salted lard vanished, replaced by the crisp, freezing bite of winter pine and raw magnesium. The dream was waiting. Every time I had come to this place before, it had been a nightmare of fragmented shadows.
