After bathing and doing her morning routines, she quickly grabbed her shawl and covered part of her face before walking down with Kei.
Wondering her eyes around the countless tables her eyes were pinned in a particular group. Their heads slumped down on the table, while some held their heads in pain.
"Guys" she greeted, Helen and Gan turned their faces, while Lara and Arden couldn't even lift their heads.
"Seia" Helen greeted back with a smile. Although it was somewhat weak and forced due to her headache, Arseia didn't mind.
"Argh~ how are you fine?" Lara complained, slightly lifting her head. "You drank more than any of us, though?"
"Well," Arseia nudges Kei beside her. "This guy here has a magic trick that makes hangovers go away," she said smiling.
"My lady??" Kei asked in confusion, he didn't expect her lady to sell him like that.
"Don't you want to help? Look at them" She pointed towards Arden who was basically knocked out, he promised not to drink but manages to get himself drunk until he passed out.
"It's none of my concern though" he replied in a cold and indifferent tone.
"See? That, that attitude is the reason why you don't have any friends" Arseia accused him, it was like looking at her younger self. She was also like that once. Bugging his brother for acting willy-nilly and not taking anything seriously, always fooling around.
She's a perfectionist, she didn't bother to care for something else other than her priorities.
"That... alright. If that's what you wished" Kei gave in and turned to the others coldly. When he raised his hand, mana began encircling his hands.
"Recvei," he said, the mana left his hands and surrounded all their bodies, healing them.
The others looked at him in disbelief. The headache that was torturing them since morning was gone in an instant. They looked at each other and none of them is wincing in pain anymore.
What kind of magic is this?
Sometimes, potions are used to get rid of hangovers but it's expensive, and normal 'healing magic' only recovers the damages caused by external attacks.
Only the temple can heal illnesses and dispel curses directly using divine power.
"That, That magic, what is that?" Lara asked, as a supporting mage herself, she's quite eager to know what spell he used.
"It's a simple recovery spell, why? Is it not working well?" Kei asked, creasing his eyebrows. Did he make a mistake? But that's impossible, the spell is simple itself that even a toddler could do it.
"That's not it, it's just... Can you teach me how?"
"Huh? You don't know how to?" Kei asked, now staring at them in confusion. "Even the most untalented people I know knew the basics, exactly how stupid are you?"
Living in the forest for so long, Kei didn't know the current state of the world. All the things that were kept inside the forest remained in the forest, he didn't consider life outside to change drastically, after the defeat of the demon king.
In his time, even though humans are weaker in terms of both magic and sword, they were the most knowledgeable and adaptive race.
Always in constant change, striving to do better, they always evolve whether for better or worse. A trait that many other races lacked. However, that wonderful trait is being hindered by human greed.
Nobles tend to monopolize all good things they see instead of sharing them, it's also the reason why the knowledge accumulated by each generation was lost.
"Why would you compare yourself to them? They're just kids." Arseia patted his shoulder stopping him from berating the others.
"As I said before, we're not kids!" Arden jolted from his seat. "How old do you think you are?!" He shouted pointing his finger at Arseia.
"I don't know, I stopped counting after reaching a thousand" Arseia touched her chin, trying to recall her distant memories.
"Ahh?"
"huh??"
"Wha??"
The others were stunned and couldn't take their eyes off Arseia. They scanned her from head to toe but they couldn't see any signs of aging at all.
"Wait, you're not a human?" Helen asked still shocked by the sudden revelation.
"What? No, I'm an elf" Arseia brushed her hair a bit, revealing her pointed ear adorned by a star-like earring dangling in a silver hue.
"Your ears!" Arden exclaimed, "You're not a half-blood?"
"Yes, Is there a problem?" Arsenia asked confused by their reaction.
"Well, it's just shocking," Lara replied. "There's only a handful of pure-blooded elves in the western continent, you see. Others are either mixed or an elf with a human parent."
"Like me, my mother is a half-elf but only her grandmother is pure-blood." Arden explained, earning simple nods and 'oh' from Arseia who was listening attentively.
"It's rare for an elf to leave the great forest and even if they do, they look down on other races, especially humans calling them bugs, or insects so others chose to stay away from them." Arseia almost wince at Helen's statement, she was right though. That's certainly how her people would react. They hold quite a grudge against humans even since her time.
"Yeah, and they talk non-sense about mixed-elves, like dirtying their noble blood or something, no offense" Arden cautiously watched Arseia's expression.
