A Comfortable SnufflerThe drink had not kept me awake as I expected. Instead I fell asleep and woke up still on the back of the snuffler. The sun up to my right, caused shadows from trees to alternate shade and brightness as we moved. Riding the snuffler was smoother than I expected, a gentle side to side rocking motion. The fur on its back was softer than the best wool I had ever felt, tangled long fur on a wide flat back, made an easy place to ride. I laid comfortably on my back and watching the trees passing by overhead. The snuffler fur smelled like nothing, reminding me that they were probably created by immortals who likely didn’t think smell mattered. Or maybe having no smell was an advantage when finding things with their massive noses. I saw a hawk circling high overhead. Again
