CHAPTER 13 Gwen After leaving Auleavell, Gwen and Aimil rode until evening and then set up camp on the side of the road. The landscape was a long stretch of flatlands comprised of tall golden grass that swayed in the breeze. They ate a small meal from the supplies Kirith had given them, and Aimil offered to take the first watch. Gwen laid on the ground and stared up at the night sky, counting the stars and trying not to think about her earlier revelation. Aimil had dropped a vial that contained what appeared to be the same poison that had infected the Thaestra River. Gwen was certain it was the same liquid, but she wanted to be able to confirm it.
