Between thoughts, Alanna remembered. She worked at Nick's company! but, she didn't even take that job seriously. That meant Nick was going there!
Nick didn't ask where she was. He just said he'd bring her the food. It was obvious that Nick had to know something else. However, Alanna couldn't let him go there.
If he went to the organization, how could she hide who she really was? She couldn't go through with the task Mrs. Miles had ordered her to do.
Thinking about it, Alanna quickly returned to her desk and sighed, —I'm fine, I'm not hungry. Besides, there's a cafeteria. I can eat here later. You don't have to worry— Alanna replied.
Just after she sent the message, secretary Richardson's impatient voice suddenly came from the front desk.
