No regrets

A best friend doesn't frame her friend like that. They are supposed to be supportive and be a shoulder to cry on. They shouldn't be backstabbing like that. For Alanna this had been a pretty hard blow. Just before Alanna approached Camille and slapped her, Lucas stopped her and grabbed her hand as she got out of the car. —Alanna, Camille and I are getting married, soon she'll be my wife. I won't let a stupid b***h like you hurt her! If you dare raise your hand to her one more time, I'll kill you!— said Lucas in a cold, shouting tone. Alanna was furious, her blood boiled in her body. Lucas had a completely different woman in front of him than the one he had met before. He kept berating and insulting her. When Alanna met Lucas, she had a rich and happy family, while Lucas was just a poor student. But in the blink of an eye Lucas became the president of the KG Organization, while Alanna was reduced to nothing. —Lucas, don't listen to her. Alanna is my best friend, okay? Wait for me in the car, okay?— said Camille in a soft voice as she took Lucas' hand. —It's okay— said Lucas nodding his head as he gave Alanna a warning look before getting into the car. This made Alanna feel extremely disappointed in an instant. As Lucas left, Alanna stepped forward and stared into Camille's face. —Camille, I detest you! You are a despicable, disgusting woman. You disgust me, who was the man last night?— Alanna said proudly. —What the hell are you talking about? Of course you know that man. Why do you pretend not to know? I don't know who he is— Camille immediately hinted sarcastically. —You set me up! don't play dumb! Tell the truth, you coward— Alanna was furious at that moment. Camille just listened to Alanna's words and smiled sinisterly. —So what? Do you have a problem? Now Lucas hates you, what are you going to do?— Camille whispered in her ear. —Lucas will know the truth of what you did— Alanna now couldn't stand Camille. —Go ahead, go and tell him. He knew. He never loved you, or, why do you think he wouldn't even touch you? You disgust him for over 3 years. It wasn't an accident, he lied to you! How naive you are...— Camille insinuated with an evil tone. Alanna listened to each of her words as if it was a dagger straight to her heart. —...He never had a car accident. It was all a sham so he wouldn't have to sleep with you anymore... You really are stupider than I thought— added Camille. It was obvious that Camille felt powerful in front of Alanna. She had repressed it for many years, but she could finally unburden herself in front of Alanna without remorse. She loved the feeling of destroying Alanna. It was an exquisite feeling for Camille, especially when she saw the shock in Alanna's eyes. —I'm also the one who has been satisfying Lucas sexually for 2 years now. Oh, he makes me moan like never before. We've been planning this for a long time, and now he finally has all the shares in the company— Camille spoke with a smirk and a cynical look on her face. Alanna was stunned. Was it true? Now it all made sense. Her eyes were blushing, while her mood went straight to hell. She couldn't even speak, her words wouldn't come out of her lips, she was motionless. —... You're a piece of garbage. You're going to get fired, you know that? You're going to be out on the street!— Camille mocked Alanna again as she turned around to go back to the car. Camille closed the car door and they both drove off. Alanna had stood there with tears in her eyes. Her world had fallen apart in the blink of an eye. Everything that had happened in her last few years was a stupid plan by Lucas and Camille. They only wanted to humiliate her and take over her mother's company. The love was always fake! The engagement was a lie - it was all a lie! The more Alanna thought about it, the more her heart raced. She bit her tongue until she tasted blood. Alanna got out of there and went home. It had certainly been the worst night of her life. The next morning, Alanna woke up in a bad mood. All she wanted to do was sleep and cry. Apparently, the next three days were terrible. This weekend, Alanna found herself at the entrance of a huge mansion, the most luxurious mansion in the city. She was wearing a shiny dress and high heels. When she saw the mansion's plaque, she was enchanted. The mansion of the Smith family, the richest family in the country. At that moment, Alanna looked over and saw a couple of girls gossiping. —Did you see that? It's Mr. Smith's birthday. He's very handsome, that man. He's usually looking for a wife at these banquets. What a thrill,— said one of the ladies. —No, I haven't seen him yet, but, I hear all the upper-class spinsters are here— replied the other woman. Nick Smith is the son of the Smith family. He entered Harvard at 15 and graduated with a law and economics degree at 18. At just 20, Nick became a department head at his parents' company, eventually increasing profits by 50%. At 22, he entered the real estate world and spread across the country. He was on the list of the richest young people in the world. Now, at 27, he has topped the Forbes list. His wealth was unparalleled. A bachelor quoted all over the country! —It's strange that a man with so much money still doesn't have a woman by his side. I've heard that he doesn't even let women approach him when he stays in hotels.— —It's obvious that with s*x, those women won't get anything— The talk between these two women was getting louder by the second. Some women just couldn't stop fantasizing. Alanna decided to ignore each of their comments and scoffed silently. He was a man who sounded quite stubborn and haughty. At that moment, as Alanna was flooded in thought she felt someone tap her shoulder and turned around. —Excuse me, are you Alanna Summer?— said a man in a black suit areppentinly. —Yes, I am— replied Alanna with intrigue. —There is a delivery for you, miss. Please sign here— said the man as he pulled out a small envelope and handed it to Alanna. Alanna was confused. She wasn't even at home. How could a messenger bring her a package when she was standing in front of Smith mansion? Alanna took the envelope and was surprised, it was indeed her name and phone number. —I need your signature...— the man hinted again. Alanna apologized and signed the sheet. The man left, and she opened the envelope and took out a couple of documents. As she leafed through them she was really surprised, it was a marriage certificate! What the hell? She and Lucas had supposedly been engaged for a year, but the marriage hadn't taken place because of family differences, especially with Alanna's father, who detested Lucas with all his heart and had even kicked her out of the family. In fact, her mother had said that after their marriage she would give them everything, but Lucas finally came out as his true self. Not only did he betray Alanna, but he stole all her shares from the KG Organization, even now he was Camille's fiancé. It's no wonder that when her father threw her out for Lucas, he was depressed. Alanna used to imagine that his depression was due to guilt, but it was clear that he was about to end it. After all, Alanna would now be left penniless from her family. Alanna's mother, however, had left her all the shares of KG Organization in her will, When Lucas found out, he knew he still couldn't break up with Alanna. Alanna looked at the marriage certificate with intrigue, but the surprises had only just begun. The man's name was not Lucas, but Nick Smith. Nick was the star of the party that night, the richest man in the country. That had to be a mistake. She checked it meticulously and yes, it was her exact information! —Excuse me... is this for me? Are you sure? It's a marriage certificate, I think you've made a mistake— said Alanna to the messenger before he left. —I only make deliveries miss, I'm sorry— said the man sincerely. She had never agreed to that. At what point did she marry Mr. Smith? Alanna didn't even know what Mr. Smith looked like, she had never seen him. That definitely had to be a joke, or a fake document. Thinking about it, Alanna wanted to throw the document away, but her personal information was clearly there. Alanna decided to throw the envelope away and put the certificate in her purse. Actually, Alanna was there that night because of an invitation her grandmother had given her. It was supposed to be to get together with friends and forget Lucas. Her grandmother was trying to encourage her to go out a little.
