Hazel's POV Currently, we were all in a very.....to say the least...disagreeable situation. We were standing at the front door of the house, Matt and Lucy had their eyes turned black, their claws elongating and growls erupting from their throats, meanwhile, the vampire, whom now I know is called Leonard, had his eyes glowing red, his own claws and fangs protruding as he hissed at the couple. "What are you doing here you blood sucking leech?!" Matt snarled. "I should be asking you that. This is my master's house." Leonard hissed back. Matt and Lucy growled again but then suddenly stopped midway and looked at him in confusion. "Your master? Vampire's don't have masters." Lucy said, her eyebrows furrowed. "Not until their lives are saved." Replied Leonard. Again, Matt and Lucy had confused expressions on their faces. "What the hell are you on about?" Matt asked with slightly disgust. Before Leonard could answer, I decided to step in. "Long story short guys, I saved his life and thus he what do you say....pledged his life to me." I explained. Both Matt and Lucy had their eyes wide in shock, and soon their mouths opened. I sighed. "Guess our pack will increase by one." "How do we trust him?" Matt asked with his arms crossed over his chest. He was giving Leonard examining looks. "You can't trust that I won't hurt you or your mate but I'd kill myself before I even think about hurting my master." Leonard replied with smug, making Matt growl loudly at him. "Hey, hey." I snapped at them. "There will be no fighting here. And Leonard, if you wanna stay by my side you should respect my friends and not hurt them." "Yes." Leonard answered, his voice lowered and his head bowing down. I sighed deeply. "Let's just go to bed guys. I'm tired." "What? I can't let you sleep here. It's too small." Leonard said in what seemed to be a panicked tone. "You don't even know if it's hundred percent disinfected." "Got a problem with our place you leech?" Matt asked angirly. "Yes I do, mutt. It's not appropriate for Hazel to stay." Leonard snapped back and the hissing and growling started once again. "Guys!" I snapped, making both their eyes look at me. "Let's just call it a night and then we'll see what will happen tomorrow, okay." I told them firmly. Leonard bowed his head and nodded a 'yes'. Wow, this vampire-saving thing really is true. "But Hazel-" Matt protested. "Okay?" I stressed the word out. "Fine." He mumbled and looked away. "Leonard you'll sleep on the couch, if that's okay?" I asked him hesitantly. "Of course it is. But master-" "Call me Hazel." I cut him off. "Hazel." He corrected himself. "Vampire's don't need to go to sleep, I'll be honoured to watch over outside your bedroom door while you rest." He said with lowered eyes and his right hand over his heart. "Er...okay...whatever suits you." I replied, giving him a weird look. I should really start getting used to this. "Lucy and Matt scoffed, causing Leonard to hiss at them. "Just go to bed guys." I said, rolling my eyes at the couple. "Good night Hazel." Matt called as he snaked his arm around Lucy's waist and started heading towards their room. "Night Haze." Lucy called. "Night guys." I replied back and soon, they both disappeared inside. "I'll go sleep now Leo. Good night." "Good night Hazel. If you need anything just call me." He replied back. I nodded my head and with sleepy eyes went to my room. I made sure to lock the door, just in case Leonard decided to go all Edward Cullen on me, with the excuse of watching over for any danger. After changing into my comfy pyjamas, I slid under the blanket, brushed off whatever thoughts I had and just let myself fall into deep sleep. _ _ The sounds of birds chipping and tress brushing against the window, made me wake up with a very relaxed mind. I love nature, I've always did and it never seized to amaze me with its beauty. I yawned and stretched before leaving the rather very comfortable bed and making my way outside. I headed towards the bathroom only to find that there was someone inside. "Do you need anything princess?" Leonard's voice made me snap my head to the dark corner. He left his position against the wall and came to stand next to me. "No thank you. I just wanted to go to the bathroom but someone's already inside. Let's go wait in the living room." I replied with a small embarrassed smile. Leonard though, didn't seem to be liking what I proposed. He stepped infront of the bathroom door and started pounding on it. "Hey mutt. Come out right now!" He yelled as he kept on knocking profusely on the door. A loud growl came from inside the bathroom and seemed that Matt was the one inside. Oh boy. "Leo stop it. Let him be." I told Leo with wide eyes. "I'm sorry princess but your well being is my top most priority and holding it in will do you no good." He replied and once again started pounding on the door. "Leo please. You're just making it awkward between my friends and me. They'll hate me." That made him stop and look at me. "If they harm you in any way, I'll kill them" Leo snarled. I sighed. "They won't hurt me Leo but they wouldn't want to be my friends and I don't want to be friendless." I explained, giving him sad eyes. His gaze softened. "I'll be your friend." "Yes, but I want Matt and Lucy to be my friends too." Leonard sighed, his hand falling to his side. "Okay. I'll stop." "You promise to try and get along with them?" I asked him in a hopeful tone. Leonard sighed again. "Yes, I'll try my best." "Thank you Leo!" I squealed and hugged him tight. His body tensed and remain that way until I pulled back with a grin. "I at inappropriate to be this close to you master." Leonard's 'slave' mode was back on. I rolled my eyes at him and placed a hand on his shoulder. "Leo, I don't want you to think of me as your master. Think of me as your friend okay?" He looked taken aback by what I said and seemed hesitant to answer me. After what seemed like forever, he finally nodded his head and smiled widely at me. "It'll go prepare breakfast for you." He grinned and with a nod from me, he turned on his heels and left. I noticed Lucy standing with an amused look on her face. "What?" I asked with a raised eyebrow. "You know that no matter what he we'll never hate you right?" She asked in a suggestive tone. I lowered my gaze as my cheeks blushed. "Oh my god you didn't! You thought that we'd actually hate for something so silly, no....you thought we'd hate at all?" She asked with shock as she strode towards me. "I-I...my pack members hated me without doing anything to them, so what would stop you guys if you found me a burden?" I mumbled and the pain in my heart came back when I remembered my pack, mostly Ian and my family. I wanted to see them but I didn't want to come back empty handed. I was snapped out of my thoughts when Lucy engulfed me in a tight hug. "Don't you ever think that we'll just leave you or that we'll hate you Haze. We're a pack remember, and pack members stick together no matter what." She coed softly as she patted my head reassuringly. "Please have faith in us Hazel." I was surprised when Matt's voice came from beside us. He opened his arms and hugged both Lucy and I's hugging form. "Pack hug!" He said cheerfully, making us all pull away laughing. However, our little scene was cut short with a loud hiss and a yelp coming from the kitchen. Leo.. We ran towards the kitchen and I couldn't help the worry the was eating my mind away. We entered the kitchen to find Leonard on the floor, clutching his arm. I looked closely to find that his arm was actually burnt. Looking around, I noticed the open window. s**t! The sun must've came in contact with his skin. I rushed to his side and quickly pushed his hand from his burnt arm. Touching it will just make it hurt more. "Lucy can you please get me some honey and salt. Quickly." I ordered and she quickly nodded her head and ran to look on the cupboards. "Matt, I need a warm, wet towel and some bandages." Matt nodded and went to get what I asked of him. Lucy rushed next to me and handed me the honey and salt. I put two spoons on honey in a plate and only one spoon of salt. I mixed them together and then poured them on the burn on Leonard's arm. He hissed in pin but them the remedy took action and his face relaxed. Matt came back with a warm towel and I took it from him and wrapped it around Leonard's arm. I closed my eyes as I pressed onto his arm and counted. 1.. 2.. 3.. 4.. 5.. I removed the towel, making sure to wipe away the honey and salt with it. I cleaned Leonard's now, healed arm from any honey residue then placed the towel inside the sink so that I could wash it later. I looked up to find all three if them, Matt, Lucy and Leo, staring at me in awe. "What?" I asked in confusion. "H-how did you do that?" Leo stuttered out. I furrowed my eyebrows at him. "You just saw the whole process." I replied. "No I meant, how did you know that this will work?" He asked, his own confusion drawn on his face. "Oh...I'm told you yesterday, I did my reading." I said with a shrug. "That was awesome Hazel." Lucy said after she found her voice. "Incredible." Matt joined. "It wasn't that big of a deal you guys." I said as I felt my face flush from the compliments. I wasn't used to this. "Not that big of a deal?!" Leo chocked out. "Did you see yourself? How you handled the situation and how brilliant and controlled you were?" My face turned brick red and I didn't answer. I didn't think that a simple remedy would make me that famous. "Number three." Leo said, his voice almost almost whisper. "This the third time that you eased my pain, the third time that to saved me." His voice rose as he told me firmly. "I'm-" "If you're going to say something about sacrificing your life and becoming my slave then you don't have to. I already know." I cut him off. Leo offered me a small smile. "Then do you know that I'm taking you back to my castle?" He said causing a gasp to leave my lips. "Castle? What castle?" I asked in confusion. "I know I didn't tell you before but, actually, I'm the leader of my clan. The one with the highest position." Leo explained with a shrug and my shock just doubled. "L-leader?" I stuttered and Leo just nodded. "So basically you're taking her to a castle filled with vampires?" Lucy asked with raised eyebrows and Leo, once again, nodded. "Vampires who'd want to kill her on sight?" Matt asked, his anger seeping with his words. Leo stared at Matt for a while before furrow in his eyebrows and scowling at him. "They won't kill her. You night not know, but we don't just go kill anything with and soul. Unless you harm us, we won't even think about scratching you." Leo hissed at Matt. Matt seemed taken aback by Leo's words and he then he turned his gaze and scratched the back if his neck, obviously feeling slightly guilty from the accusation. "I...it's...uh.." He stuttered out. "Just forget it." Leo said and then turned to look at me. "Hazel, please come live in my castle. It's bigger and you'll be served just the way you deserve. It'll even be more safe." Leo pleaded with hopeful eyes. "We're coming too." Lucy said abruptly. "What?" Matt gasped at her. "We won't leave Hazel alone. We're a pack remember?" She explained but I had a feeling that this was only an excuse for her to leave this cramped place and go live in a castle. Matt sighed in defeat and looked at Leo for approval. Leo in return, looked at me and I scrunched up my face at him. "It's your call. You want them to come or not." Leo said with at shrug. There was no thinking about this. "Of course I want them to come." I replied and nodded my head. "Great. We'll leave when the sun sets." Leo said with a smile. I smiled back at him and nodded once again.
