POV: Jessica The gym was dark except for the emergency exit light above the far door, a dim red glow that turned everything it touched the color of something wrong. I was sitting on the bleacher steps with my back against the wall and my knees pulled to my chest and two wolves standing at the main entrance who had not spoken to me in forty minutes. Not threatening, not cruel, Just present, Just immovable. Which was in some ways worse than threatening because there was nothing to negotiate with.
