Chapter 3

185 Words
My routine for when I came home from school is pretty much the same. As soon as the bus drops me off at my front porch, I'd step off, get the mail (unless it's already been retrieved), walk through the front do, and go immediately to my bedroom where I lay down. Since I always complete my homework in school (mostly during football practice), I either read a book, watch TV, or play games on my laptop. I do either of these things. Tonight was no different. Tonight, me and my parents were eating chicken Alfredo pasta. My mom always put either broccoli or cauliflower in as a vegetable topping alongside the chicken. We all ate at the table. "So, how was school?" my mom asked me. "Fine," I replied. "You doin' your homework?" my dad queried. "Always. I just do it in school so I wouldn't have to do it here," I answered. And that's pretty much the norm at my house. Sure, the routine gets changed up by week-long season breaks and unexpected vacations or shopping trips, but otherwise, pretty much the same.
