Caelia and Darius entered the company with the guards clearing their path. She felt uncomfortable by the exaggerated behavior of the guards. But she remained silent, not wanting to ruin the moment.
The interior of the company, as expected, was luxurious. Although the furnitures were not designed using gold, the elegance was comparable.
Luminara—the name of the company which has existed for years, continued to glow like the sun—symbol of the company. Even the name itself derived from the word "luminiscent".
It was her first time seeing such a beauty. It was to be expected from a main stream company. And to match the relevance of the company, even the employees working are all Alphas and Lunas with great influence within the territory.
It was indeed a sight to behold.
Despite many Alphas walking around and passing by in a distance, she couldn't smell a thing. Not a single faint that should be deemed natural to them.
Most of them, especially those with stronger traits, uses a stabilizer to stabilize their scents. This is an optional choice that is not strictly enforced as not all of them are Alphas and Lunas with strong scents.
However, in Luminara, it is a different story.
As the main stream of business, with Alphas and Lunas everywhere—it is strictly prohibited to enter the place without having used a stabilizer.
This is to prevent any accidents from happening within the workplace. Although they have better control over themselves, when they meet their fated mate, 99 out of 100 percent—an accident will occur.
Since both Alphas and Lunas are vulnerable to each other's scents, losing control in a sacred workplace will cause a large commotion—interrupting the business in the process.
So it has been their unspoken rule to use stabilizers before entering the company. A must-do for the sake of everyone. Although this rule is not necessarily applied in smaller companies, most dominant gender still use stabilizer to avoid getting on the news.
A rule considered common sense to people in Carran.
Caelia and Darius made it to his office without a problem. The comfortable feeling of walking their way from the entrance to the elevator without getting a whiff of any scents remained until they reached the top floor.
Caelia only loosened her composure when the bodyguards did not follow them to the elevator. Aside from it being right, it's also basic courtesy to not ride the same lift as the CEO.
Caelia can be considered an exception. Although they are only mates in contract, she still hold a position enough to stay by the leader's side.
The entire 11th floor was designed only for the higher ups, and in this case, only Darius and Caelia have the right to enter the last floor.
Although the place was huge, there were only two room—which, as Caelia assumed, is the same as the mansion.
Darius remained silent the entire time, but since they are finally alone, she felt the need to initiate the conversation and start climbing his wall.
"Are we allowed to strut our way in the company without using a stabilizer?"
Darius, who was holding the door towards his office, paused before proceeding.
"Mm."
'Not even a word.' she thought. However, she did not give up.
"Did you finish the signing of the contract for the handover?" another question. But all she heard was the same "Mm."
As Darius scrutinized the office he will be working at, Caelia stared at his back, still indifferent despite her unrelenting questions.
However, Caelia had no thought of giving up. She opened her mouth, ready to ask another trivial question to the man with a huge wall in front of her. But before she could even speak, Darius turned to look at her with the same glowing yellow eyes that made anyone that looked at it shiver in fear.
"Assistant Manager. That will be your position starting today."
It wasn't a question, nor was it a recommendation. It was a statement one cannot refute no matter what they do.
From that day on, Caelia became the assistant manager doing all the job not required for her position.

Caelia blinked her eyes, she felt the nightstand beside her bed as she reached for her phone.
It was 6 in the morning.
'Why did I dream of that?' she rubbed her eyes, yawning as she stretched her arms and sat still for a moment.
The house, usually quiet, had a sign of soul dwelling within. Although the sound of chirping and humming was still unheard, the wind continued to blow from the thin curtain.
A noise not so loud to wake her up from a dream, but the sound of footsteps coming from downstairs.
It sounded busy, but surely, it's not the old servant. He always walked like a ghost, after all, not making even a single sound as he approaches people.
It couldn't be Darius either. Even if he had left home, he doesn't even make that much sound—not out of care for the sleeping Caelia, but because there is no need to make a sound when it's not necessary.
However, Caelia did not think much of it and opened the windowsill which allowed a gush of wind to enter her room. The cold breeze woke her up from her dazed state.
What greeted her view was the sight of the pond with water lilies, bushes with empty flowers, and the trees surrounding the wall. Beyond, a greenhouse with its usual beauty brought a smile on her face.
It has been her favorite place since the moment she discovered its existence. However, up until today, despite 2 years passing by in a blink of an eye—she had no idea of the mysterious gardener who continued to take care of the greenhouse without her knowledge.
Out of curiosity, she asked the old servant who looked uncooperative but is oddly honest. However, with a serious face, he shook his head and refused to answer.
His behavior greatly bewildered her.
'Is the mysterious gardener's existence a secret?' she wondered, but that was too absurd of a thought.
Although he is worthy of praise for such a beautiful greenhouse, it cannot change the fact that he is a mere gardener. Unless he actually has a magic hand that can make flowers bloom in no time. But that too, was absurd.
She couldn't even ask Darius as he either leave the house all the time or ignore her completely. So the question was left aside, with no answer and no one to ask.
She leaned closer to the window, her head resting on her hand. The breeze was cold, but it cooled her mind and she felt sleepy once again.
However, just as she was about to fall into a slumber, her eyes opened and blinked twice.
"Why do I feel like I am forgetting something?"
She looked at the back yard, then turned her gaze back to her room. She blinked, and continued to blink as she scanned her room.
Her eyes drifted from the bed, which was still a mess, to her desk, with miscellaneous things organized perfectly, to the bookshelf filled with books. But she still couldn't remember.
She closed her eyes and focused on her thought, trying to remember what she had missed. But to her disappointment, she still couldn't remember.
However, just as she was about to brush the thought as a dream, her eyes met the mirror placed above the desk.
She saw her reflection. A woman whose face remained beautiful but hair disheveled. She lowered her gaze to see that she was still wearing the clothes she wore to her workplace.
And like a flashback, her mind remembered what she had missed.
"The woman!"
