What Happens Next

A little Fun

The next few days were going to be for just a little fun in the sun. A party was set for this weekend but then again I had some stuff to do and I was worried about getting it done. 

"Get out of your head" I hear above me

I look up to see Brantley looking for at me. I smile at him and he leans down kissing me quick. 

"I'm good" I tell him

"You are not. Your thinking you have all this work to do and your stressing. So we are going to fix that" He tells me

He throws me over his shoulder carries me to the back deck and sits me down on my feet. He spins me around and there was a hotub sitting down in the deck and my jaw drops. 

"Strip" He commands

I quickly remove my clothes and he helps me down into the bubbly water and I sigh. He shreds his clothes and slides in with me. I lean back into him and he wraps his arms around me and I sigh and close my eyes. I don't know how long we sat there relaxing but the doorbell started to ring. He got out and got dressed and went to open the door. He didn't come back so I got ready and headed down to see a bunch of our friends setting stuff up. 

"Hey darlin. How are you?" Luke asks

"I'm alright" I say shrugging

"What's wrong?" He asks me

"I don't know i'm just not feeling great." I say 

"Why don't you go lay down for a nap and we will finish up this. I'll wake you before we start" Caroline suggests

"Are you sure?" I ask 

"go on" She says nudging me

I nod and hug her and head off to the bedroom. I don't know how long I slept but I woke up and it was the next morning. I headed down to the kitchen to find Brantley sitting at the kitchen table. 

"Hey" I say 

"Hey" He says not looking at me

"Why didn't anyone wake me last night?" I ask

"I come to wake you but you were running a fever so I let you sleep it off" He he tells me

"Oh." i mumble

I walk over and fix myself some hot tea and I walk over sitting in his lap and he stiffens. 

"What's wrong?" I ask 

"Nothing" He says

"Your lying" I say 

"No i'm not" He says still not looking at me

I frown but stand and walk off and get dressed. I come back with my keys and purse and by pass him.

"Where are you going?" He asks

"Out" I say slamming the door

I hear him follow me and he gets to me just as I shut the truck door. 

"Where are you going?" He asks

"I told you out. I'm not going to sit there why you lie to me" I snap at him

I crank the truck and back out leaving him standing there. I show up at mama's and I was trying to keep my emotions in check when she opened the door. 

"hey baby" She says 

I walk over and hug her and I started sobbing. 

"Hey baby. What's wrong?" She asks rubbing my back 

I couldn't even answer her so she shouted for Kolby. He was able to pick me up and get me to the couch. 

"Hey now lil bit. What's going on?" He asks while rubbing my back

"I ended up with a fever last night so everyone just let me sleep. Well when I woke up this morning he wouldn't even look at me and then I sat in his lap and he tensed up and then lied straight to my face so I left." I mumble

"Rest" He says and walks off

I could hear mama on the phone with him going off on him. I sigh and close my eyes and I dose off for a bit. A little bit later I feel someone sit on the edge of the couch and push my hair off my face. I whine and open my eyes and look up to see Brantley sitting by me. 

"What?" I ask with a huff

"I'm sorry. Your right. I shouldn't have lied." He says softly

I slapped his hand away from me and frowned at me. He sighs and looks down at me. 

"Why?" I ask 

My voice was scratchy from crying and he cringed. 

"I have some things on my mind and I wasn't ready to share yet" He says 

"Then why lie? If you can lie over something so little what if it's something bigger. How can I trust you?" I ask him

"Hey you can trust me. I'm sorry for lying to you. I promise it won't happen again" He tells me

I sigh and look up at him.

"Ok" I whisper

He leans down and kisses me softly and my phone rings. I pull back from our kiss and pull out my phone. 

"Hey Scott" I say 

Brantley raises a eyebrow at me and i roll my eyes. 

"Really?" I ask smiling

Brantley chuckles and I smack him. 

"Of course I will" I say with a squeal 

I hang up with him and B sits there smirking. 

"Is that what you were hiding?" I ask him 

"that and one other thing you will have to wait for" He tells me

I tackle him and he lands on his back on the floor with me on top of him. I hear a giggle and look up to see mama watching us. 

" I take it your gonna do the video" She says

"You knew to?" I ask 

She nods and walks off and I look down at grin at him. I lean down and kiss him and he kisses me back softly. 

"Hey now no making babies on mama's floor" Kolby says

I tense up and jump up and Brantley follows. 

"I'm gonna go for a walk" I say running out

I could hear Brantley punch Kolby and run after me. I kept walking until I felt arms wrap around me and I lost it sobbing. I was lifted up and carried in the house and I felt him sit and start rocking. 

"It's ok princess." He tells me kissing my forehead

I jump up and slap a hand over my mouth and run to the bathroom. I drop to my knees in front of the toilet and empty my stomach. Hands move my hair and it just keeps coming up. Once I was done and slumped onto the floor sniffling and holding my stomach. 

"Here baby take this" Brantley says

He sits me up and helps me swallow the pill with some water. He cleans me up and carries me to the kitchen where mama had a bowl of chicken soup waiting on me. Brantley sat down and slowly fed me when Kolby walked in holding a ice pack to his jaw. 

"Darlin i'm so sorry. I didn't know" He tells me

"Its ok" I whisper

He leans down kissing the top of my head and takes a seat. I eat half the bowl before I push it away and I relax into B's chest and close my eyes. 

"Why don't you take her home. I'll drop her jeep off later." Mama says

I feel him nod and stand with me and it didn't take us long to get home after that. When we got to the bedroom Sav was there waiting. B laid me down and Sav slid in bed with me and wrapped around me and ran her fingers through my hair til I fell asleep. 

Brantley's POV

"Maybe you should try to get her to talk to a therapist about everything she has been through" Sav suggests

"I'll talk to her about it. I'm going to run to the store. Need anything?" I ask her

"Just some cokes, mms, and wine." She says

"Alright. Call if you need anything else." I tell her

I pat her leg and get up and head to the store. Today just isn't my day cause I run into Amber. 

"Brantley" She says nodding

"Amber" I say nodding back

"How are you?" She asks

"Good. Look I gotta run my fiance is sick" I tell her

"Good for you B." She says with a smile

"Thanks. And congrats to you to" I say nodding at her hand

"Oh yeah. Thanks." She says

I nod and walk off and grab everything we will need and then I head back to the house. Sav meets me at the front door and shoves her phone in my face. I sigh seeing me talk to Amber. 

"We ran into one another. I told her I was engaged and she is as well. We had a friendly talk that's it." I tell her

I pull out my phone and call Amber and sigh. 

"Brantley?" She says

"Can you please tell my fiance that we just had a friendly talk and that your engaged?" I ask with a sigh

"Sure" She says 

I walk over to Lex and put my phone on speaker. 

"Alright" I say 

"Hi. I ran into him and asked how he was and he mentioned you. I'm engaged as well. We talked a minute and then went on with our days. Nothing happened just two old friends saying hi" She tells Alexa

"Thank you" Alexa croaks

"your welcome. Hope you feel better soon. Brantley if it hasn't moved then my momma's remedy is still stuck to the side of the fridge. She will feel better in no time. If it's not i can text it to you." She says

"Amber your amazing. I forgot about that. Text it to me please" I tell her

"Already done. Feel better soon Alexa" She says and hangs up

I run to the kitchen and quickly make it up and walk back to her handing her the glass. 

"Don't smell, don't think just drink in one gulp" I tell her

She nods and throws it back and starts coughing and I hand her some water to wash it down. She sighs and flops down on the couch groaning. 

"That was horrible" She whines

"Amber's mom has shoved it down my throat a time or two but it works in a matter of hours" I tell her

A WEEK LATER 

We were at a convert enjoying some time out when a guy grabbed Alexa's ass. she decked him and PJ walked over to us. 

"He grabbed my ass" Alexa snaps

PJ yanks him up and escorts him right out of the arena. 

"You good Lexa girl?" Luke asks from stage

She wiggles her fingers at him and gives him a thumbs up and he chuckles and starts up another song. I wrap my arms around her when Caroline walks over to us and hugs Alexa. 

"Come on" She shouts

We follow her to the side stage and Alexa relaxes fully. 

"better?" Caroline asks her

She nods and thanks her and she starts singing along. We stated til Luke finished and then headed to the little after party at the buses. 

"Hey Alexa come here?" Priscilla calls

She runs over and reads the paper handed to her. 

"i'll get the music. Sing" She tells her

I raise a brow at her and she shrugs. Music starts up and Alexa starts singing and everyone stops to watch and listen. Alexa gets into it and starts dancing. When it ends she was panting and grinning.

"that is amazing. Please tell me your going to release it" Alexa says

"I'm not but you are" Priscilla tells her

Alexa's jaw drop and she shakes her head.

"No way" She says 

"Yes ma'am. You have the country twang down more than I do. You sound amazing. We are hitting the booth tomorrow and your gonna lay it down. So BG no making her scream tonight" Priscilla says

I smirk and salute her. We ended the night with a few drinks and headed home for a good nights rest cause the upcoming weeks were going to kick our asses. 

TWO WEEKS LATER

I had just left the studio and headed home to find Alexa asleep on the couch with Sylo. I smile and walk over pulling a blanket over her. I head up to the bedroom to change clothes and I come back to them still sleeping. I pick up my phone and call my momma. 

"Hey baby" she says

"Hey momma. Wanna go out for dinner?" I ask 

"Sure. Alexa coming?" She asks

"She is. She is sleeping right now. I think her meds are making her sleepy more than usual" i tell her

"May be. Is it just us?" She asks

"I was thinking of inviting the whole crew" I say 

"Ok baby. I'll call some on this side" She says

"Ok momma. see you later" I say

"Bye baby" She says and hangs up

I made a few more calls and then called making reservations. I called in a few favors and soon everything was delivered and I laid it out on the bed and went to wake Alexa. I knelt down beside her and pushed her hair off her face and smiled. 

"Hey baby" I say softly

She stirs and opens her eyes and smiles up at me. 

"Hey" She whispers

"I need you to go get ready" I tell her

She nods and stretches and sits up and sighs. She stands and thats when I see she is in one of my t shirts. She walks off and goes to get ready. Two hours later she comes down and I groan and she grins.
