Bailey’s POV Just as the words left my mouth, Rider acted immediately. “I’ll handle it,” he said calmly, gently patting my shoulders. “What do you mean by that?” I asked. He didn’t answer. He simply walked out of the room. I heard him snap his fingers, signaling to the guards. “I’ll call you when I need you,” he said before shutting the door. I sat on my bed and waited. The summons didn’t take long. A guard arrived shortly after and escorted me to the central courtyard. It was already filled when I arrived. The pack’s most influential warriors lined the perimeter in formal formation. Council members stood along the marble steps.
