Bailey’s POV An awkward silence settled between us as Rider closed the distance. The air shifted the moment he stopped in front of me. My skin prickled under his stare even before I looked up at him. When I finally met his eyes, he didn’t speak. He simply watched me. Then his brows drew together. He inhaled sharply, sniffing the air. His expression changed slowly, his jaw tightening as he breathed in again. “You were with him,” he said, his voice low and firm. It wasn’t a question. It was a statement. I nodded. “In the courtyard.
