Yulen was instantly awake when Atty stirred in his arms. Waves of fear swept through him as she rolled over until she faced him. “What?” Instead of answering, she slid her arms around his neck, pressing herself tightly against him, and kissed his chin. He lowered his face to meet her lips and tasted the salty tears. He continued to kiss her slowly and lovingly as her nightmare ebbed. She’d been dreaming, perhaps reliving these past few days and the anguish she’d lived through at the thought of never seeing him again. He knew what she was feeling because he’d been dreaming that same nightmare. He drew his arms around her as tightly as possible, burying his nose in her hair in order to breathe in her scent. Filling his lungs with her life-giving smell as her love wrapped around his heart
