Chapter FiveWhen I enter the bedroom, I’m still ecstatic to have him here, to have moved past all the lies and pretence. Alex, who’s made himself comfortable under the covers in the meantime, has gone quiet. “What are you thinking about?” I ask, then immediately wish I’d bitten my tongue rather than let the most annoying of all questions slip out. He doesn’t answer, just looks around the darkened room. It is all a bit strange now that at least some of our urges have been fulfilled.
