Chapter Six“I was worried you wouldn’t want to come over.” Mark evades my gaze, instead looking down at his hands, in a rare showing of weakness. It’s completely out of character for him, and actually kind of endearing. “Well it’s only fair we figure this thing out.” I observe him, as he starts to chop the onions and garlic, in preparation for the feast he’s promised me. Apparently he’s making some kind of seared duck breast in a red wine something, I wasn’t quite listening and anyway I’m not that much of a foodie. “Indeed.
