Chapter SevenThe doors open with the customary ding, and we step out, following Jamie, who seems to know exactly where he’s going: the room at the end of the hallway.
Once we get inside, Alex casts off his jacket, and takes my coat and clutch bag from me. The room looks suitably opulent, with its carefully chosen colour scheme of earthy bronzes and golds; it certainly matches the expectation set by the stylish lobby and bar. There’s nowhere for three people to sit, but the massive four-poster bed, so that’s where I go, while watching Jamie unbutton his waistcoat.
