“Not a sudden movement from you two.” a gruffly voice interjected and I abruptly threw my hands up in the air feeling like a deer caught in the headlights. The man with a gravelly serious face probably in his early forties, wearing a simple t-shirt and faded pants furrowed his brows at us while gripping a GUN. This is a nightmare, I thought aghast as I mentally shook myself wishing with all my might that this is just my hallucination. “Why are you guys here?!” the man asked pointing the gun several inches away from my face. I lose all my sense to speak feeling my breath caught within my lungs. I am horrified, terrified, scared and A LOT MORE SCARED. “P-Please mister, s-sir, s-spare our lives. We’re too yo-young to die and... I’m still a VIRGIN!” I pleaded him, almost crying. He put the gun down and... and laugh hysterically. Am I missing something?! “Chillax, young lady. This is just a toy gun.” Then the man beside me laughs along with the man playing the now said toy gun. I shoot him a deathly glare. “both of you come with me. I already drove those men away.” the man went out as he bounces the toy gun in his palm whistling as he goes. I swear that, that was the realest toy gun I have ever seen. It looks so shiny and heavy. “Virgin huh.” Mr. Breast-grabbing-maniac teased. “Whatever!! I-I just came up with that from a... m-movie.” I folded my arms blushing furiously from embarrassment. Plus I had just come up with the lamest excuse of the century. Oh Gosh, Layla won’t be proud of me. He stood up and dusted himself off from the barleys. “Wait!! Are we going to follow that crazy man with the toy gun?” I asked him askance as I stood up pulling the hem of his shirt stopping him. “He’s a stranger!” I pointed out trying to convince him otherwise. He chuckled and leaned down so close to me... so close our breath mixes. He intently stared into my eyes with a serious face. “I’m a stranger yet you’re with me.” he remarked and left me dumbfounded. Okay, that makes sense. *** I inhaled deeply with so much satisfaction, happiness, bliss and peace. “This is what you call life.” Mr. Stranger stated standing beside me spreading his arms wide inhaling the fresh air around us as we admired the view. “Yeah, I can’t believe I’m embracing this freedom.” I agreed as I closed my eyes, feeling the wind kissing my skin and blowing my hair—grasses, trees can be seen all over the place as far as the eyes could see; realizing that a provincial scenery is more amazing and relaxing than the ones in the city. “By the way, what’s your name? I know it’s kind of late to ask.” I opened my eyes and face him. “Not telling.” he grinned. He added after some thought displaying his cute thinking face as he scrunched his nose. “Well if you think about it, it’s better to be with a stranger who doesn’t know you, right? You can be real, you can be as you without them judging you.” And then winked at me. “Woah! That’s a very wonderful word of wisdom from Mr. Stranger.” I chuckled, surprised as I discovered a deep side of him and applauded while he proudly bowed—as if he’s an actor who had just performed a marvelous show. “Thank you, Missy.” he responded grinning widely. “Well, lovers stop flirting and get back to work.” a hoarse voice interrupted us as he adjusted his conical hat as he came back from ploughing the field. “Okay, sorry Mr. Wedge.” I responded and we get back to our respective duties. You might be wondering why we’re working? First of all, that crazy man with a gun earlier this morning is Mr. Wedge. He has a wife which is taking good care of their one year old baby named Gritta. He doesn’t have any companions to do all the poultry-farm works so we proposed a deal to him which is he’ll let us eat breakfast, lunch, dinner and stayed for the night at their home and in return we’ll help him do all these poultry, planting, harvesting and the like works in return. The chores even though might be simple at first is actually quite hard and doing it while under the heat of the sun actually adds to it being quite challenging. “Mr. Wedge, I’ll go ahead and help Mrs. Wedge prepare our lunch.” I stated for I was already done harvesting the eggs from the hens, planting the seeds or more like just spreading them as what Mr. Wedge instructed and then watering them right after. Mr. Wedge nodded and I went to the guy chopping the piece of woods into smaller ones effortlessly, he seemed comfortable and used to doing this kind of stuff while I screamed and ran as one of the hens chased me when I harvested their eggs. I kind of felt bad for the hens. “Hey Mr. Stranger, I’ll go ahead and prepare our lunch.” I smiled cheerfully at him. “Yeah, that’s a good habit to be a good wife, Missy.” he gave me a broad smile as he adjusted my conical hat. This creep is seducing me! I need to leave this instant. “Y-Yeah, so bye now.” I was about to leave but he stopped me as he got a hold of one of my shoulder. “Not so fast. Your hair is a total mess.” he laughs stating matter—of—factly and removed my conical hat. “Do you have a rubber band or tie?” he chuckled as I just showed him the rubber band on my wrist not breaking an eye-contact at him—too stunned to give out a response. He then took it and made me turn my back on him. I was about to face him but he again stopped me. “Let me tie your hair.” he announced and before I could fully comprehend what he said, he had already tied and fixed my hair into a high ponytail. “There, that’s better.” he stated proud of what he had done to my hair. “Oh, what a nice mariposa tattoo you have here.” he exclaimed while caressing the small black butterfly tattoo on the back, left side of my neck sending shivers all the way down my spine at the same time giving me a tingling sensation. I hastily stepped out of his reach and thanked him feeling myself flushed. “You’re blushing.” he called teasingly. “It’s due to the heat, you dope.” I called back not sparing him a glance as I started to walk s***h run away from him.
