"Hmmm." I sighed and move my hand across the bed trying to feel a particular physique and felt nothing but the soft silky linen. I slowly opened my eyes and realize I had fallen asleep waiting for Christian’s return. I guess he didn't come back to the room after going out to take the phone call. I lazily climbed out the bed putting on one of his gray sweatpants, pulled his polo off the floor not bothering to wear any bra—foregoing the idea of wearing it and slowly made my way out the room. I walk sluggishly feeling heavy like I gained 100 pounds. "Christian?" I called out yawning and rubbing my eyes for a clearer vision. As if an answer, I heard a splash of water from his Olympic-like size pool and there saw Christian swimming gracefully and beautifully underwater going across the other side of the pool and back again. I called him but he didn’t bother to response thinking his too engrossed in his swimming. I went to the pool side table and seated on one of the chairs surrounding it. The cold wind blew past my body and I hastily hugged myself feeling goose bumps all over my skin and the cold marble floor under my bare feet did the same effect. I shivered realizing if I’m cold even out of the water how much more the man who is still swimming in the pool. Why did he decide to take a swim at three in dawn?! He broke out the surface to take a breath and his lips tightened in a thin line upon seeing me and proceeded to massage his temples as if I brought distress to him. He isn't bothered by my existence at all and carried on his swimming. What's wrong?! Had I done something wrong?! I keep on staring at him going back and forth across the huge pool performing gracefully and expertly different strokes not sparing a glance at me. I tried coaxing him to get out of the water concerned he might catch a cold but to no avail as he ignored my pleas. After an hour or so, he got out of the water wearing only his boxers, toweled dry his hair, put his sweatpants on and seated far across from me. He sighed. "How long are you going to endure the cold?" his voice was firm and eyed me speculatively. He was conscious that I was shivering. "Oh, you notice I'm here? I thought we’re playing blind and deaf." I said pain laced in my voice. I tried all my might to not let my voice broke because of my chattering teeth. He sighed once again, shut his eyes maybe suppressing his irritation within. "Let's go inside now." he held my cold, corpse like hand just like his, led me inside the house and then his room. His face is now neither irritated nor calm, he's simply unreadable. I gripped and tugged his hand which made his body stiffened as we entered the room. I slowly spin him to face me. "What's wrong?" I gently caressed his cheeks willing him to look at me. He trailed his hands up to my arms then to my hands kissing my palms. He placed my hands at the back of his neck and hugged me feeling his body relaxes making me a little damp. He was silent for a while only our breathing can be heard. "Is it because of the phone call?" I asked breaking the silence and felt him stiffened once more. He's acting strange. "Do you trust me?" his voice is low but I felt him fuming. It made me nervous. These shifting moods of his is making me nervous. "Y-yes, I do." my voice is small. "F*ck!! Why did you trust me!!" he pulled away yelling. I was taken aback by his reaction, confusion and anxiety coiled within my stomach. "W-what did y-you... say?" I stuttered. I don't like this Christian. He isn't the Christian I know... as FAR as, I know him. "WHY DID YOU, APHRODITE?!!" he snap in anger tapping the door of his room hard that it made me jump. My nervousness has been devoured by anger. Now, I'm totally pissed. I can't tolerate this kind of behavior!! "You MADE me trust you!!" I hissed. "GO!! Stay away from me!!" his words struck at my heart making it ache. I winced at his painful words and wiped the tears rolling down my cheeks. "W-why are... y-you like t-this?!" my voice broke, triggering more tears to fall. I wiped my tears defiantly. “Is it something, I d-did?” I ask sobbing helplessly in front of him. His face softened upon seeing my face full of tears and came towards me taking long strides. "I’m sorry. I’m so sorry.” he said repeatedly comforting me as he gently kisses my tears away. “We need to go now, please." he panicky said darting his eyes towards the clock on the wall. “Why? What’s wrong?” I asked hiccupping as I placed both my hands against either side of his cheeks making him look at me. “Will you runaway with me?” he asked gentler, calmness laced in his voice and proceeded to wipe the traces of tears off my cheeks with his thumbs. “Will you elope and marry me?” he asks shaking, his voice almost pleading. I closed my eyes feeling too much intensity with just a little touch of our skin. He affect me too much, I can't even resist it. I nodded frantically giving him my approval. "Get dressed warmly." he commanded as he rummage through his closet handing me a black wool jacket and a scarf while he took off his wet clothes and replaced it with pants and a thick jacket same as mine but bigger. I was about to wear the jacket but the door swung wide open and banged so loud against the wall breaking through the silence of the night.
