My footsteps echoed in the hallway as I stepped out of the lift. My office floor was reigning in silence and I intended to keep it that way after the headache I had from the fight earlier.
I wouldn't exactly call it a fight but it happened more unexpectedly than I had thought. Maybe I was a fool to think that the ways I took to win her back over would be successful.
