The following day, Dakota and I were on our way to Dad's office. After class was over, Dakota informed me that Alpha August had called him for a meeting; I figured they needed to chat in private, meaning I wouldn't be in the room, but I had to be always in the vicinity of my buff babysitter.
I had planned to spend my lunch break in the library, looking for books on magic and spells. Nicholas' talks of moving far away from Scarlett Moon territory didn't sit well with me. He had suffered enough, and I wasn't going to stand by and let it continue. There had to be something I could do.
“Why is it necessary for me to be here?" I groaned, trying to keep up with Dakota's long stride.
