Like the first day I had shown up at his cabin, Nicholas was at the door when I arrived. I was thankful I didn't have to knock or sneak inside, but how did he know I was there? Did he sense me? Nicholas only wore a pair of boxer briefs, and his green eyes stared at me, bloodshot and perplexed; either I had caught him before bedtime, or my presence had woken him up again. “Let me in," I whispered, brushing his cheek with my fingertips. His skin felt warm and smooth. He lowered my hand, taking it into his, and led me inside the cabin. Nicholas guided me through the darkness into what appeared to be his bedroom.
