Chapter Fifteen
Before Meikah could protest, Kellan rode out of the shallow cave. She stared at him in the opening, holding her breath as she waited for an arrow to pierce him. None came. “She’s dealt with them?”
Kellan shrugged, the light rocking, shifting the shadows around. “We’ll ride on. She’ll catch up.”
Meikah wanted to protest. She didn’t want to meet Urian, but neither did she want to remain in the ravine. She followed Kellan, Livia joining them a few minutes before they reached a cave entrance, remaining in cat form.
“He lives in there?” Meikah gestured towards the darkness. Who lived in a cave? She dismounted to stand beside Kellan who had done the same.
Livia stalked forward, becoming human as she did so. “I guess there’s only one way to find out. Hope Rafe did his part.”
