Lyra's POV
"If she stays… more people will die."
The words hit me again and the harder this time, I did not even think, I moved and I pulled my door open fast.
The wood hit the wall with a loud sound and the two maids froze, their eyes then went wide, they were not expecting me and I stepped out slowly.
My heart beat fast.
"What did you just say?" I asked but my voice was calm and then my hands shook and then the maids looked at each other and then back at me.
"We… we did not mean—" one started.
"Say it again," I said and my voice broke a little, then the other maid stepped back.
"No, Luna, please…"
"Say it," I repeated and there was silence.
Then the first maid started crying and her voice came out fast.
"You bring danger!"
