"She is still inside the pack."
Darius's voice did not shake and that scared me more than shouting.
The hall went silent and not one argued, not one breathed loud but we all felt it now.
The truth was not outside, the truth was here with us.
Darius then turned to the guards.
"Lock every gate," he said.
"They are already sealed, Alpha."
"Then seal them again."
"Yes, Alpha."
He looked at Kael.
"You stay out of this."
Kael laughed once and it was low and sharp.
"No."
"This is my pack."
"And she is my mate."
