The Pack That Turns on Me
Lyra's POV
"She is tied to my past."
The words left my mouth, and the room felt too small, no one spoke for a second and then everything broke.
Voices rose outside, it was fast and loud and I heard whispers turned into noise and then I heard it through the walls.
"They found another one…"
"Inside the Alpha wing…"
"Again?"
My chest tightened and Darius turned his head toward the door and his jaw set.
"Stay here," he said.
"No," I answered fast and he looked at me and then I held his gaze.
"I am not hiding anymore."
Kael then stepped closer to me.
"You should not walk into this."
"I already am in it," I said and that shut him up and Darius exhaled once and then he nodded.
"Stay close."
We then walked out together.
