The Good News

When the night passed,the king commanded the messenger to tell General Cruz to come to the main meeting room.When General hears it from the messenger He went immediately.He was surprised to what the king pleased him.

General Cruz:(stands in front of the King's throne and vows down) What can I do for you,Your majesty?

King:I have heard the greatness of a trainee inside the camp.You,As a Head General of the camp,knows who this

young man is with such a greatness inside the camp.

General Cruz:Oh yes sire!!! (speaks excitedly)He is Antonio Woods.He is one of the best trainees in the training camp.Actually,he was the one who won in the final shooting compitition inside the camp.Honestly,all bullets he have shoot was bullseye.He also ranks second in the running compitition.He can even finish a 40 meter dash in just 4.5 seconds.He was also the fastest to climb a pole.He was even the one who fixed the camp's flagpole pulleys when they were stucked.He was even the…

King:Enough of that!I am pleasing you to come to his house.Because his greatness reached me and I want to see

if his greatness is true.(Walks to the nearby window and stares outside)I'll select him to be a palace guard.

General Cruz:(follows the king) Yes I’ll do it your majesty.That's a good choice.You'll not regret if you make him a

palace guard because He has all the characteristics of a true soldier.When will I go to him sire?

King:I want you to go now and don’t forget to bring some of your corporals.Tell Mr.Woods and his family to come

Here tomorrow for the declaration of the new palace guards.

General Cruz:Yes your majesty,as you wish.

When General Cruz leaved,he immediately gathered his five trusted corporals and told them what the king requested him.They forsake the City of Vienna and went to Antonio’s hometown Modling.When they arrived at the town,they searched Antonio’s house.To know where is the specific location of his house,they looked for people who might know Antonio’s house.General Cruz and the corporals went to the sitting old man near them and asked:

General Cruz:Good morning signore.Do you know Antonio Woods?

Old man:Yes signore.Why did you asked?

General Cruz:I am General Cruz.The King commanded me to talk to Antonio Woods about an important

announcement.

Old man:Ahhh!General Cruz.Turn right at the end of this street then look for the third house in the left side.If you

hear a piano being played,that’s their house.There the only one who have piano in that street.

General Cruz:Thank you Signore.

Old man:You’re welcome General.(comes inside to his house)

They easily located Antonio’s house because when they arrived,a beautiful Minuet in G Major was played in a piano from the house that the old man told them.Antonio on the other hand was the one playing the piano when the general and the corporals came to their house.The General went to the house:

General:(knocks)Good Morning…

Clara:(opens)Oh good morning Signor.How can I help you?

General Cruz:Ohh signorina!I'm General Cruz.I am here to tell you an important announcement.Our King Gustav

requested me to come here.By the way,who is the one playing the piano

Clara:It's Antonio playing the piano upstairs.Let’s go inside.

They went to the sala and they sat on the long couches.Clara went to the kitchen to bring coffee to the visitors.The general and his companions have enjoyed listening to the beautiful music while waiting for Clara and Antonio.A few moments later after the coffee was brought to them,Clara went upstairs:

Clara:(knonks)Antonio!

Antonio:(stopped playing the piano) Mom?

Clara:Go downstairs.,General Cruz and five men are here.They wants to talk to us.

Antonio:Ok mom be right there.(a little bit confused)

General Cruz and his corporals talked about the lovely tune they heard earlier.A few moments later Clara and Antonio finally go to the sala where their visitors are waiting.

Clara:(sits in the long counch in front of them) General,what is that important announcement you told me.

Antonio:(sits beside Clara) What is it General Cruz?

General Cruz:I have been commanded by the king to come here and tell you that Antonio is one of the selected

new palace guards.

Clara:(surprised) Is that true Signore?

General Cruz:(speaking happily)Yes!Absolutely Madam.He also said that he invites you to come in the palace

tomorrow for the declaration.

Clara:(surprised and looked to his son)You’ll be a palace guard my son!I’m very happy for you.

General Cruz:(looks to Antonio)By the way,when you where not yet here,we talked about the tune that you

played.As a pianist,I found it very delightful.That's Minuet in G Major by Bach.

Antonio:(smiles) It’s actually by Christian Petzold General.

The Corporals:(laughed silently)

General Cruz:(a little bit embarrassed) Ahh! I guess my whole life was a lie(laugh) Ok but how did you learned the

beautiful variations you used?

Antonio:I just made it all by myself.

Corporal 1:How long are you playing the piano boy?

Antonio:I started playing the piano when I was six.I think I play the piano for already ten years.

General and his Corporals:(Amazed)

Corporal 2:You played it too long now.Why not starting a concert piano career?

Clara:Honestly he is also a local concert pianist here in Modling.

Corporal 3:Well it’s great for an incredible soldier.You’re so talented young man.

Antonio:Thanks Sir.

General Cruz:Did you wrote the sheet music of that variations?

Antonio:Yes General.You can have it if you want.

General Cruz:Thanks.

Antonio:(went to his room and picked the sheet music)…(went back to the sala)…(gives it to General Cruz)

General Cruz:Thank you again Antonio.(stands and walks to the door with corporals) I think it’s time to say goodbye

now.Don't forget tomorrow,by the way the declaration will be held at the palace 9:00 am tomorrow.

Clara:Ok we’ll not forget that general.Bye!(wave her hands)

Antonio:See you tomorrow General (wave his hands)

General Cruz and the Corporals:(Waves to Antonio and Clara then left)

Clara:I'm proud of you son.(Hugs)

Antonio:Thanks for being proud of me mom.

That day they find the best clothes they can wear tomorrow.They also told George and Clair to prepare their clothes for this event that will be held at the palace.The family are very excited for it.
