The Alpha’s Runt

Mate

I woke up in a cold hard cell, where am I? I thought I had escaped from my pack? 

What happened? I asked my wolf confused.

I may have accidentally ran into another wolf territory and they are waiting for the alpha to decide on our punishment for trespassing. She replied like it was not a big deal as we are rouges and that there is a high chance we will be killed.

What! I screamed in my head giving myself a headache.

We won't die, I can feel it in my bones. She replied happily. 

Half the time you say that, they weren't exactly accurate. I scowled back and block her from my head. I can't help but wonder what our punishment is. Most of the time, rogues that trespass into the territory are killed, some alphas spare them, others used them as slave. But judging by my bad luck, I most probably will just be killed mercilessly. I really don't want to die, I just escaped from a hellhole called home and now I was going to be killed, I haven't even met my mate yet, I rather get rejected and know who my mate is then just die by the hands of an alpha.

"So you are awake, get up. The alpha wants to see you before he decides on your punishment," one of the guard said before opening the door and pulling me by my neck to where the alpha is. 

I was pulled into a room, which is more like a throne room. Just my luck, I had ran into none other than the alpha king's territory. Like I said my luck isn't good, if it was, I won't be born into such a family and I wouldn't have to run from my pack. I looked down and made my body lighter so that the guards can carry me more easily. When I reached the alpha king, I bend my neck in a sign of submission and to show that I meant no harm. I took a deep breathe, ready to accept my fate when I smelt it, the smell of pine trees and rain, it was so heavenly that it made me looked up at the alpha king himself in the eyes. When I regained my senses, I almost fainted from shock, I just broke one of the rules that every alpha has, never look them in the eyes as it is a sign of disrespect. But it was also then when I heard something that I dreaded oh so very much. 

"Mine!" The alpha king growled eyes turning black and the aura he was giving off was just so terrifying that the guards stumbled and the beta, I suppose, ran in to look for any danger. I staggered backwards when his aura hit me like a block. I couldn't understand, when most people find their mate, they are very happy not angry, while from what I see that is, then I realised that it most probably because I am a runt or because I am a rogue. Ember was running around in my ear so much that it hurt. Was he going to reject me? My last thought before everything went black.
