She sat in front of the mirror, applying makeup on her face slowly. Clothed in a long red one sleeve dress, she was looking so stunning that morning as she stared at her beautiful reflection in the mirror.
Her face was gloomy as she still hasn’t gotten over everything that happened last night. But today, she was determined. Determined to be a woman and do the right thing as her mother in-law has said.
She saw Daren’s reflection in the mirror. He was standing behind her, dressed in a black fitted suit and tie. He planted a kiss on her head and rubbed her shoulders gently. She heaved a sigh and didn’t say a word as he continued with the act.
He could see her gloomy face in the mirror and he felt his heart sink. They hadn’t spoken much since last night and he knew how deeply hurt she was. He felt so bad for becoming the cause of all her woes. He knew the sacrifices she had made to be with him and he couldn’t bear seeing her go through all these pains all because of him.
“My love,” he called softly.
She sighed and pushed her hair backwards.
“Are you preparing to go somewhere?” He asked.
“Yes. I’m visiting Rita at her place,” she muttered as she stood up from the chair.
“I’m sorry for last night,” he apologized as he saw her walking to the bed.
She picked up her black handbag and turned to face him.
“My love, I’ve always told you, let’s go away from this place,” he said as he walked over to her.
“Would that make me pregnant?” She asked and he sighed heavily and looked away.
“No, but it would give us peace of mind,” he said as he took hold of her hands.
“Daren, we are not leaving. We will stay and put Diana and Dotun to shame,” she assured.
He kept silent as he looked into her beautiful eyes.
“I love you, Melisa,” he assured her.
She gulped and her heart became heavy as she thought about what she was about to do to him.
“I..I love you too,” she said with teary eyes as he planted a slow kiss on her lips.
As she stepped out into the passage, she bumped into Dotun who was walking in her direction. He was dressed handsomely in a black suit and tie and his eyes scanned through her beautiful succulent body as she tried to walk past him. He stopped for a moment and pulled her back.
“Get off me, you animal!” She thundered and he smirked and rubbed his fingers on his beards.
“Looking so stunning as ever,” he remarked as he stood in front of her, staring into her angry face.
She sighed in frustration and looked away from him.
“By the time I’m done with you, you will regret ever choosing Daren over me,” he said with a smirk and she sneered at his face and walked away.

“I can’t believe that guy is still pained that you chose Daren over him. That happened a long time ago and he should have gotten over it by now,” Rita said as she walked to the dining room where Melisa was sitting, with her head bowed.
“Yes, he’s still in pain. And you know how Diana had always been jealous of me back then at school. She was so jealous that the boys were fighting over me,” she said with a smile as she raised her head.
Rita laughed as she sat on the chair and grabbed a cup of tea on the table.
“She still hates the fact that you are more beautiful than her, the most beautiful girl on campus back then,” She praised and they both laughed.
“What was Dotun thinking? That I would choose him over Daren? Come on, Daren is a hundred times better than him in everything," Melisa scoffed.
“He was the first to approach you though, and I’m glad you turned down his request. He isn’t mature. He and Diana really made a perfect couple. They both aren't matured at all,” Rita said and they laughed again.
“Rita, let’s talk about the reason I’m here,” she said anxiously as she looked at Rita who was drinking her tea slowly.
“I’m ready if you are ready,” she said.
“Do you have a man already?” Melisa asked.
“Yes, I know a very good man for the job. His name is Jerry and I contacted him last night after you called. He’s ready,” she said.
She shrugged and sighed.
“Can we really trust this man?” She asked anxiously.
“Of course, why will I get you a man I don’t trust? Besides, he has done it for a lot of women I know,” she said.
“I’m talking about confidentiality,” she said.
“I'm a hundred percent sure. All he cares about is his money,” she said with a smile.
“How much is his pay?” She asked.
“2 million. 1 million as advanced payment and another 1 million after you get pregnant,” she said.
“And what if I don't get pregnant?” She asked anxiously.
“You will do it again..,” she tried to speak.
“No! I..I can’t cheat on Daren, twice,” she cried as she shook her head.
“You’re not cheating on him. You’re helping him out. Besides, Jerry wouldn’t fail. Just one round and you will get pregnant, trust me,” she assured.
Melisa kept silent and counted her fingers slowly.
“I would have preferred you do it when ovulating, for a quicker result,” Rita said.
“I’m ovulating,” she said.
“Wow! That means, we have to do this sharply!” She cried as she stood up immediately.
“Rita, hmm,” she shrugged.
“Come on, do you want to change your mind? After everything the Taiwo’s family have put you through? Come on, you need to do this for Daren,” she urged as she took hold of her hand.
Melisa kept silent and a tear escaped her eye.
“Make the call,” She ordered firmly.
“Wow, that’s my girl,” Rita said as she ran over to the couch to pick up her phone.
She watched as Rita stood in the living room, making the phone call.
“Daren, I’m so sorry,” Melisa cried silently as tears dripped down her face.
“Babe,” Rita called as she walked to meet her exuberantly.
“He says you should meet him up at Orlando hotels and suites. He will be there waiting for you,” she informed.
She kept silent and wiped the tears off her cheek.
“If I’m going, I will need a disguise,” she said and Rita nodded.
