At the sound of his words, Daren stood up from the floor and walked over to him.
"You, you look familiar," he said as his eyes settled on Jerry's face.
"You should ask your wife more about me," he said and Melisa hurried towards them immediately.
She tried to speak but Elsa's voice cut in.
"He says he's here for something that belonged to him. Please explain what you meant by that statement," she requested with a deep frown on her face.
"Melisa knows what I am talking about," he said as he looked in her direction with a smirk on his face and all eyes turned in her direction.
"Um..I..I.. don't know what you're talking about..who..who are you?" Melisa asked anxiously and he smirked.
"I am May's daddy and I'm here to claim my daughter," he revealed.
"Argh!" Everyone gasped.
"What..what are you talking about?!" She flared.
"Are you okay?!" Daren yelled as he shot him a death stare.
Elsa stood up from her seat slowly and she scoffed as she walked slowly around the young man.
"This young man needs to be thrown out of here!" Charles Boseman yelled as he walked towards them.
"No, wait. We need you to explain further," Elsa said as she stopped in front of the young man.
"May is my child whom Melisa bore me. She contacted me to get her pregnant as her husband was incapable. I did the job but she didn't fulfill her own side of the deal so I am here to take my daughter," he related.
"How dare you! How dare you!" Daren growled as he surged towards the young man and pounced on him immediately while Dotun and Charles tried to separate them.
Melisa couldn't help but break down in tears as she watched the whole scenario. What has she done? She thought as she clamped her fingers on her face anxiously.
"Daren, put yourself together and let's get this right!!" Elsa yelled in his face as she pushed him away from Jerry.
He stood with his whole body fuming and his face boiling as he stared at Jerry who was adjusting his dress.
"Young man, how true are these words you're spilling right here in our faces?" Mrs. Selina asked from the couch where she sat elegantly.
"If these words were mere lies, I wouldn't take the risk of coming here today. You should be directing all your questions to Melisa, not me," he said amidst pants.
All eyes turned in Melisa's direction and she began to pant heavily as she caught sight of the angry faces all piercing through her. She tried to speak but the words wouldn't come out.
"Lisa!!" Elsa yelled with her whole strength.
"Mother..mother..," She cried as she fell to her knees immediately.
"What this young man is saying, Is it true?!!" She thundered furiously with hot breaths protruding from her nostrils.
"Mother..he is lying. He is lying!!" She cried with her hands raised in the air.
"Wow, seriously? So our hotel romance has turned into a lie, uh?" Jerry asked with a scoff.
"Shut up!!" Daren flared with his eyes burning red.
"I have all the pictures. I have all the pictures of our meeting together in case you don't know," he said as he brought out his phone.
Her eyes bulged as he showed them pictures on his phone and he could see the anger on their faces as they turned to look in her direction.
Her tears increased as she caught sight of Daren's bitter face and she buried her face to the floor immediately.
"I'm just here to claim my daughter. I'm done with all this drama," Jerry continued.
"If you dare come close to my daughter, I will kill you!" Daren threatened.
"Young man, we will send for you after a DNA test is carried out. That is the only thing we can do for you right now," Mrs. Selina spoke dryly from her seat.
"That will be better," he said as he adjusted the collar of his shirt and walked out.
There was a moment of silence and only Melisa's sobs could be heard in the room.
"Stop sobbing!" Elsa barked from where she stood.
She kept silent and wiped her tears as she saw Elsa's furious eyes burning into hers.
"Lisa, were you planning to rub the Taiwo's family in the mud?" She asked slowly as she walked towards her.
"No, mother.. I can explain!" She cried.
Elsa scoffed and shook her head slowly.
"Pray that the result ends up in our favor," she said with a smirk.
"Because if it doesn't, no part of the earth will contain you, Lisa," she threatened and walked away from her.
"The test will be carried out today. But for now, Lisa will be locked away separately from our son. I don’t want her to infect him with whatever virus she must have contracted from that lover of hers.
Take her away and lock her up in a room without bed, without food, nor water!" Mrs. Selina declared as she stood up from her seat and all eyes were raised.
"Yes, mother," Elsa acknowledged.
"No..mother, you can't do this!" Melisa cried with her hands in the air.
"Guards!!" Elsa thundered and the two men rushed towards her immediately.
"Take her away and lock her up in an empty room without food or water!" She ordered.
"Father! Daren! Please do not let them take me away!" She cried profusely as the guards pulled her up from the floor while her daughter began to cry.
Daren watched in silence as she was being taken away. He couldn't hold back the tears any longer and he let them fall freely. He could see his father picking up baby May from the floor as she tried to run after her mother.
"Daren, put yourself together." he consoled as he patted his shoulder and walked away with the baby.
"Bro, be a man," Dotun put in as he walked away with his wife.
He watched as everyone walked away from him and he broke into hot tears immediately.
