Chapter 4: Get to know you.

1198 Words
I didn't leave a single grain on the plate, and I'm sorry, but I'm not sorry. Why should I starve myself when the food wasn't even adequate? I arranged the plates after cleaning them, and then I took time to relax before retiring to my room. 'A day full of surprises.' I thought before giving in to the calls of sleep. ***** 'Why is there still an alarm? I'm not going to work for a while!' I grumble in my head, slapping the alarm shut before I realised it was my phone I hit. "Urgh!" I forgot to switch off the alarm on my phone, and I hit my phone a little too hard. 'Get yourself together, Mona!' I inwardly reprimand myself before climbing off the bed fully awake now. Goodness, I'm not in the best of mood right now, I just want to eat and take a relaxing swim in my pool, and that's exactly how I'll spend my day. What's a vacation without relaxation? "Sarah, what is the breakfast menu today?" I call from the living room after greeting Sarah. I already tidied myself up, and as usual, I'm dressed a little too nicely for just a casual in-house day. I'm currently feeding my pet bird, Kirk. He is a blue Pacific parrotlet, and although he's grown, he doesn't let anyone except me get near. I love blue very much, so I made sure Kirk and his cage were blue coded. "I have made some pancakes, cream filled bread, beef roll, and hot chocolate." Sarah recites as she sets the dining table. "Thank you, Sarah." I wash my hands before I start eating. I'm not a fan of eggs, so I hardly have it in any of my meals. Not that I don't eat eggs. I just don't eat it regularly. My hearty breakfast and Kirk helped me with my bad mood. Right now, I'm on my way to swim in my enclosed inground veranda pool. I put comfort as a priority in my life. Everything I need to have in my house to avoid me wandering around, I do it. Diving into the pool and forgetting all the care in the world, I continue to submerge myself in the water, occasionally taking breaks until I get tired. A while later, I brought in my huge cute flamingo float. Reclining on the huge body of the inflammable float, I continue to enjoy my time in the pool with the snacks Sarah provided at the side of the pool. I lost track of time with my phone far from me on one of the recliners and tables set up for after swimming. I was going to continue swimming until Sarah reminded me of my evening plans. Oh my! I have an hour before Tory gets here. Racing into the house with my phone and a robe in my body, I head straight to the shower. In less than fifteen minutes, I was in my dress putting on a protective loose maxi as I applied my makeup to avoid staining my outfit. Ten minutes to Theoryne and my agreed time, I put some perfume on, grabbed my back, and wore my heels before heading downstairs. Theoryne: I'm at your house. Theoryne, very much on time, sent me a text, and I asked Sarah to get him for me. I welcomed Theoryne at the door, motioning for him to come inside. Have I mentioned how handsome this man was? Even if I did, I need to say it about a thousand times to be justified, because what's the meaning of this hotness in front of me? Theoryne is wearing formal black pants paired with a black long-sleeve shirt, giving a nice peek of his nice muscular and toned chest. His wrist is on a sleek gold watch, and as usual, his ear has an earring on it, but this time, it is gold. His feet flex a pair of laced boots, and last but not least, the cologne he's wearing gives him a formidable aura. I'm in love with the look. His neatly combed low afro and everything he's giving off, I love it. My fake boyfriend is killing it! "You look gorgeous." Tory comments as we enter the living room. 'Would you please stop smiling, Mona!' I criticise myself in my head for being flustered by the compliment. "Thank you, you look amazing too." I had to stop "hot" from slipping out of my mouth. Tory gives me a small smile before we sit down. I'm dressed in a green off-shoulder long-sleeved gown down to the floor. The body hug design highlighted the curves of my body perfectly. With a thin netted layer covering my waistline showing off some skin, the dress has a final alluring overview with the side slit stopping at my knee, giving way for my black stilettos to show. My hair is in a loose bun with curls falling randomly, while my face is beautifully laid with makeup, and my hand holds on to my shimmering green purse. "Let's get to know each other. Give me a rundown about yourself." Tory asks as Sarah puts a glass of drink in both our front. "My name is Mona Bergone, I'm twenty-seven years old, I have a younger sister who is getting married, Lisa. I inherited my father's tech company, my mother is a doctor and the sponsor of many huge companies we see every day. My parents want me to get married or at least date because I'm a little too focused on work. My favourite colour is blue, and my pet bird's name is Kirk." I give a brief summary of who I am and wait for Theoryne to answer the question back. "I'm Theoryne Sinq, twenty-seven years old too, I have no siblings, I'm cut from many fields but mainly an architect and businessman. My parents are retired with me doing major handling of the chains of hotels we own. I have two pet fishes and a feminine white horse. I'm a loyal person and have never really had any true dating moment. The highest I've done is shared a kiss with someone, we broke up five days after dating. My favourite colour is white." The longest I've ever heard Theoryne say, and he does have an interesting tale to tell. Dated for five days? That's serious because, why are you breaking up in less than a week? There must have been a reason. I've only dated one guy in my life, Mac. My senior high to early university boyfriend. I met him in the last year of high school, and we dated until after the first year of university. He was an obsessed guy hiding behind the facade of possessiveness. Why do you have a tracker on me and my phone? Why do you sneak into my appointment uninvited twice a week? Why do you want to follow me into the women's room when we go to public places, and why do you want me hanging out around you or only female friends you know? Mac was toxic, and he did a lot to make me mentally eradicate dating in my life.
